SIG Distribution is going through an exciting transformation. Following a reorganisation of our sales function we have an exciting Territory Sales Manager (TSM) position covering the Kent region. This is a great time to apply if you're a customer focused, strategic and experienced external territory sales professional. The TSM role has responsibility for a portfolio of accounts, with a focus on cross-selling our full range of products to them and retaining their customs in this very competitive market. We are building on our leading position in the market to drive sustainable growth, profitability and increased customer value. Coupled with the management of these accounts, the successful candidate must also seek out profitable and sustainable new business opportunities with new clients in the region.
What does the role involve?
You’ll provide our customers a dedicated sales resource and the attention and support they need to deliver projects on time, with the right building materials. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the role itself will be centred on providing a solution based sales approach to both existing and new customers within the Kent region . You will be expected to develop, plan and work against targets within your territory. With allocated customers, you will plan and develop approximately 60 existing accounts, whilst allocating around 30% of your time to new business development. There is a strong focus on field activities like customer, construction and developer site visits and will require the ability to sell across the full SIGD portfolio based on identifying customer needs. At interview, you need to demonstrate experience of building lasting relationships and have the drive, capability and confidence to lead client visits, presentations with customers. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to think creatively, but operate within a structured sales environment, It’s also essential that you have high ethical standards and a clear communication style. This role will work closely with the other SIGD internal and external sales roles, to maximise customer value where large national customers are delivering on construction projects within your territory.
This particular territory is highly competitive, so we need a candidate that is a proven "deal maker". You'll need to have the proven ability to break into new accounts, get in front of key decision makers and most importantly....close the deal!
