Technical Sales Manager – Fixings & Fasteners

Job Title: Technical Sales Manager – Fixings & Fasteners

Industry Sector: Construction, Power Tools, Fixings, Fastenings, Contractors, Main Contractors, Sub-contractors, Contractors, Specialist Contractors, Construction Engineers, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, Technical Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Area Sales Manager

Area to be covered: London (patch dependent on location)

Remuneration: £40,000 - £60,000 + uncapped commission

The role Technical Sales Manager – Fixings & Fasteners will involve:

·         Selling a high quality range of fixings, fastenings, power tools, power tool accessories and hand tools

·         Selling to main contractors from the largest in the industry downwards, and specialist sub-contractors across housebuilding, industrial and commercial construction projects

·         Majority of your time will be spent generating new business and developing the relationship where the service and knowledge becomes more important than the price

·         Inheriting a patch that suits your location and/or travel preferences

·         Dealing with a wide range of order values

·         Understanding the construction application and requirements of the customer and then identifying the appropriate products for the specific application

·         Attending the relevant training courses to ensure that you have a ‘finger on the pulse’ understanding of the market

The ideal applicant will be a Technical Sales Manager - Fixings & Fasteners

·         Must have demonstrable track record within field sales in the South of England is essential

·         A strong construction engineering background / qualification with the desire  to get into field sales will be considered

·         Ideally in the construction fixings, fasteners, power tools and accessories and construction consumables sectors.

·         Previous experience selling power tools and power tool accessories would be an advantage but is not essential

·         An understanding of the different trades in the construction market, market trends and the desire to make sure  the business remains ahead of its competitors

·         Skills to spot an opportunity within a sales pitch, for example assessing equipment on a site and highlighting the benefits of alternative products to do the job more quickly, more cost-efficiently or more easily

·         Strong negotiation skills with an analytical mindset ensuring you pay attention to the finer details of products/sales
