This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to join a well-established news, research and analysis business focused on a range of specialist sectors. The role will see you take the lead on managing subscriptions for their existing client base ensuring retention rates are kept at a maximum as well as looking to drive new business in line with strategy.

Client Details

My client is a publisher of news, insight and analysis for specialist sector including risk and insurance, pensions as wells as niche sports and music. They are part of a wider network who's parent company employees over 5000 people and manages over 200 brands


The subscriptions account manager's duties will include

  • Renewing current subscriptions with clients aiming for maximum retention

  • Look to generate further revenues from clients by upselling

  • Understanding the processes for renewal and generating new business as quickly as possible

  • Achieving and exceeding monthly and annual subscriptions targets

  • Establishing and gaining a knowledge of the wealth management sector quickly

  • Managing the existing client base to ensure retention and increased year on year revenues

  • To be client-facing when required

  • To be incredibly organised and able to juggle several tasks at once

Within this role you will be expected to will take responsibility for renewals and new sales of all subscriptions, as well as repeat and new sales. This will largely involve emailing and telephoning existing subscribers to see if they wish to renew their subscription, but will also involve canvassing companies for new subscriptions and copy sales. A background in account management or sales within the media, insurance or publishing sectors will be crucial to a successful application.


The Successful Subscriptions account manager will:

  • Have phone based experience with a proven track record ideally in subscriptions or account management

  • Have excellent communication and phone skills

  • Ideally have experience of Salesforce, or a similar CRM model.

  • Be results driven and expect to reach and exceed targets

  • Be highly organised in their approach

  • Be ready to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the wealth management industry

  • A background in the financial services

  • Be able to take responsibility and show accountability

  • Have commercial awareness
