The team

Strategic Sales is focused on originating, shaping and closing the major deals for Capita and works closely with the Divisions. We are seeking to source, scope, design and – ultimately – win large, transformational outsourcing and technology deals. Working across the public and private sectors, and all industries, our team exists to build extraordinary value within our clients’ organisations. We work on contracts from a minimum of £25m to well in excess of £1bn, and many of the solutions that we create and deliver are both unique and genuinely ground-breaking. As the ‘engine room’ for growth we offer, to the very best and brightest individuals, the opportunity to work on some of the biggest, most complex and most creative deals in today’s market.

The role

Purpose of role

The Solution Director ensures that we develop comprehensive and robust business solutions that are designed and developed to meet the needs of our clients. They lead and coordinate the work of various subject matter experts and technical leads to develop clearly articulated target operating models which are underpinned by robust transformation plans and compelling business cases.

The Solutions Director must work with a range of internal and external stakeholders, adapting and tailoring our solutions to meet different and sometimes conflicting objectives. This includes meetings, dialogue seessions and workshops with:

*

client service delivery and procurement teams, to understand requirements and to co-design solutions

*

Capita sales leads to ensure our solutions are compelling and supported by appropriate sales collateral

*

Capita operational teams to ensure our solutions are based on robust evidence operationally deliverable

*

Capita financial and commercial leads to ensure the solution is properly costed and supports a business case which meets internal and external expectations

Key Accountabilities

The Solution Director is responsible for:

*

identifying the key work streams and expertise required to design a comprehensive solution

*

leading solution discussions and dialogue with client respresentatives

*

co-ordinating appropriate input and involvement from subject matter experts

*

identifying the key issues that the client is facing in delivering their vision and objectives

*

designing and articulating innovative target operating models, including people, process and technology components, that can deliver the Client’s requirements and are operationally deliverable by Capita

*

identifying and articulating service improvements or innovations to deliver the target operating model

*

accurately costing required investments

*

accurately identifying or estimating cost savings and other financial benefits

*

identifying and articulating other non financial beneits associated with the solution

*

working with the Programme Manager to develop the overall Transformation Plan

*

supporting bid production by producing written documentation to clearly describe the solution at a detailed and summary level

About you

Skills and Experience

You should have experience of:

*

developing solutions which incorporate all the different compenents of a comprehensive business architechture including people, process and technology

*

working in a client facing role, in a sales focussed or operational delivery role

*

problem solving, identifying and understanding key client issues and developing innovative and compelling solution

*

designing and leading internal and external presentations

*

working as part of a multi faceted project team on projects lasting 6-18 months

Skills required to fulfil the role include:

*

basic research and analysis skills

*

excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

*

good financial and commercial skills with ability to develop solutions that deliver compelling business cases

*

excellent writing skills

*

time management and the ability and tenacity to consistently hit challenging deadlines

Academic and Professional Qualifications

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent. Evidence of post graduate professional development is desirable but not essential.
