Specification Sales Manager – Office Furniture

Job Title: Specification Sales Manager – Office Furniture

Industry Sector: Office Furniture, Corporate Commercial End Users, Dealer Partners, Furniture & Interior Design Companies, Specification Sales, A&D, Architects and Interior Designers

Area to be covered: Midlands – Birmingham focused

Remuneration: £45,000-£55,000 + £15,000-£25,000 Commission

Benefits: Car Allowance & Full Benefits Package

The role of the Specification Sales Manager – Office Furniture will involve:

·        Field sales role promoting a manufactured range of office furniture

·        80% specification field sales/ project led role with architects & interior designers A&D and corporate commercial  end users

·        20% fulfilling through an established network of furniture dealers (approx. 5 established and a further 15 dormant or low spending accounts)

·        Focus of the area will be Birmingham (up to 50% of your time)

·        Predominantly a new business development position

·        Tasked with growing a territory from circa £200,000 up to £750,000 (historically achieved over £1.2m pre pandemic)

·        Project sizes will vary from £2,000-£5,000 up to £100,000, but typically £5,000-£10,000

·        Commercial blue chip end users include; automotive manufacturers, IT/ technology companies, education and legal organisations

·        Presenting lunch & learn meetings

·        Building relationships and socialising within the Birmingham A&D community

·        Acting as the expert/ go-to person for your dealer partners and customers

·        Home based position, but you will spend time within our client’s Manchester and London showrooms

The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager – Office Furniture with:

·        A&D architects & interior design specification field sales experience or corporate commercial end user field sales experience, ideally both

·        Contacts within the Birmingham A&D Community would be beneficial

·        Experience selling high end/ premium interior products or interior finishes, office furniture product knowledge is not essential but may be useful

·        Open to flooring, textiles, wall coverings, fabrics, interior finishes and other interior field sales backgrounds

·        New business hunter

·        Willing to learn

·        Proactive and self sufficient – ability to hit ground running

·        Ability to produce high quality presentations/ proposals and quotations

·        Proven track record of field sales success / territory management

·        Excellent communication and negotiation skills
