About the role

About The Role

Our Wholesale Commercial Marketing team is looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to join Virgin Media Business. You will be working as part of the team responsible for utilising market insight to explore and develop business strategies and growth opportunities in line with our wider Wholesale business objectives.

Reporting to the Head of Product, Marketing & Strategy, the Senior Strategy Manager will work alongside the Commercial, Sales and Digital teams within Wholesale to input into strategic planning activities, shaping and evaluating strategic scenarios and aligning the business behind the strategy and long-range plan.

As our environment continues to evolve, you will also support the growth of the team by means of identifying and responding to industry structural changes, evolving business models, competitive threats, technology and product landscapes, market and partnering opportunities, as well as customer behaviour.

What will you be accountable for?

*

Communicating, championing, and helping to shape execution of Wholesale business strategies with the rest of the organisation.

*

Shaping and evaluating key growth opportunities for the organisation and influencing across functions to communicate, shape and help drive execution of these opportunities.

*

Leading on market insight projects and papers to identify and prioritise effective competitor response options and positioning in the market.

*

Evaluating and articulating complex issues and opportunities (ranging from regulatory trends to technology trends) and draw out the strategic implications for the business, making recommendations on any response or change in direction.

*

Input into strategic planning process – with insights, strategic options, analysis, business case evaluation and business oversight – helping to shape the ‘Long Range Plan’ and scenarios.

The must have’s

*

Experience of working in a similar capacity within Strategy, with a valuable insight into new products and services as well as market trends in the Telecommunications sector.

*

Confidence liaising with all levels of seniority, excellent stakeholder management skills and an approachable, collaborative working style.

*

An ability to analyse, understand, and synthesise complex data and issues to translate into executable insight.

*

Ability to develop quantitative and qualitative aspects of investment opportunities and business cases and to summarise these in senior level presentations.
