The Pricing & Promotions International team implements and subsequently analyses the efficacy of our pricing and promotional strategies throughout EMEA and APAC. As a Senior Pricing Manager dedicated to Goods, you will be responsible for the management and evolution of the Pricing strategy and corresponding rule-set. You should have a broad understanding of Pricing methodologies and strategies, ideally in a large retailer/e-tailer/consultancy environment. As part of your role you’ll have the opportunity to partner with multiple functions: commercial, merchandising, promotions, finance, marketing, inventory and legal.

Key initiatives (on top of core role function) would be to contribute significantly to the following;

Integrating existing rule-sets (SQL) into an online pricing rules engine

Develop incremental rule-sets to drive value for the customer, and business alike

Working collaboratively with the data science department to develop price elasticity values, and integrate into the aforementioned rule-sets.

Develop benefits tracking for all Goods pricing activity, to prove incremental value to the business

Increasing cadence of Price checking on various elements of the Goods supply

Develop a region/country specific Pricing policy, and evolve over time

Measuring the success of all pricing strategies and understand the true impact of pricing activity is central to Groupon Goods success. This will be facilitated through regular monitoring of the market to understand competitors’ pricing & promotion activity. You will have the luxury of coming in at a point of evolution from a Pricing infrastructure perspective, with dynamic pricing functionality already built in all EMEA markets.

You’ll spend time on the following:

You will define, analyse, and review business metrics to continually evaluate and refine pricing practices, tactics, and strategy

You will drive the implementation of tactical and strategic pricing initiatives and strategy changes, addressing process, technical requirements and change management

You will lead weekly reviews of pricing strategy with key Goods stakeholders

You will propose and present changes to pricing leadership to deliver sales plan and project impact to monthly sales / discount rate and gross margin targets

You will lead weekly system price changes for all product areas by partnering with relevant merchandising teams and owning weekly approval processes

You will own all relevant templates relating to the pricing strategy proposing meaningful updates to improve reporting and drive efficiencies

You will collaborate with promotions, merchandising, and marketing teams to understand the impact of direct and cross elasticity on pricing performance

You will work closely with promotions counterparts to ensure Price & Promotions activity is running effectively

You will ensure all pricing strategies are legal, logical, effective, and competitive within the international marketplace

We’re excited about you if you have:

2/3+ years of pricing experience within a medium/large retailer/e-tailer/consultancy environment

Experience of product matching, pricing reporting, agency/budget management and FMCG pricing rules

Bachelor's degree in Business, Management Science, Mathematics or Economics required, Master's degree a plus

You can eloquently communicate goals, plans, and strategy across all levels of the business

You have a builder mentality; you identify problems quickly and are eager to build solutions from scratch, not just improve on others' work

1+ years of Project Management experience ideal

Essential; advanced Excel and analytical mind-set

Not essential but ideal; advanced SQL, data visualisation and Tableau skills
