We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Analytics Manager, to join our new Revenue Growth & Analytics Team

The RGM team leads the development of Price, Promotion & Assortment strategy across all brands and franchises, works with multiple functions (MS&P, marketing, customer, supply chain, finance, regional teams) and ultimately ensures delivery through key stakeholders.

The Senior Commercial Analytics Manager is a pivotal role within the team providing insight and analytics from internal and external sources delivering actionable insights that guide the team's priorities and the business direction, this could take the form of identifying future opportunities and/or uncovering potential challenges on the horizon. They will touch many areas including strategic pricing, promotional optimisation, product assortment, commercial innovation, trade investment optimisation. Key area is optimising / be-spoking current Revenue Growth Management tools to help support joint value creation approach.

As this is a newly scoped team it is possible that these responsibilities may flex depending upon which elements add most value and/or business priorities.

Key competencies:

Revenue Growth Management

*

Identify new ways to increase sales and profit for J&J and its customers as well as delivering for the consumer.

*

Utilising regional RGM tools (plus developing new UK tools) to provide insights on growth opportunities across brands and customers.

*

Develop and then lead strategic pricing review process annually and support any resulting CPI activity.

*

Analyse profitability at a customer/brand/sku level to determine ways to optimise our product portfolio for J&J and our customers.

Winning Commercial Propositions

*

Support development of winning commercial propositions for key brands by providing analysis of market dynamics as well as category margin modelling. Provide insights on potential areas of opportunity or concern.

*

Enable understanding of dynamics within channels through utilisjng internal and external data sources

Commercial Analytics

*

Develop our approach to analytics within the customer development function, including a way to routinely mine big data for insight.

*

Assess current usage of customer specific data sources and develop plans to utilise this more rigorously.

Commercial fundamentals

*

Drive understanding or promotional ROI through continuing to evolve the promotion evaluation tool. Ensure a robust view of promotional performance is available showing return from an internal and external perspective.

*

Enable the wider customer team to make sound decisions and take action by providing and evolving continuous reporting covering EPOS, EPOS to NTS, (MS, grey tracking, channel performance, CAGR etc.

NPD strategy and execution

*

Supports development of NPD business cases through provision of cash up and modelling tools ensuring sound methodology is used.

*

Leads NPD tracking process across the business ensuring all metrics are reviewed versus category benchmarks and internal business plans. Ensures an accurate assessment of each initiative can be made and any corrective action or amplification put in place.

Annual Business Planning

*

Development of IBP tools and methodology to support the annual business planning process including: input of market analysis, customer segmentation, target setting tools and cash up of plans in Sales to Marketing.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

*

Extensive experience in blue chip, fast moving consumer packaged goods environment with commercial experience including direct customer facing role/s.

*

Strong and proven analytical skills with the ability to mine data for insight

*

Ability to create business tools that answer business questions using data sources

*

Full understanding of P&L both to read and construct

*

Expert user in both internal and external data systems including Nielsenj RSI and One Plan

*

Advanced user of Excel, Access and ideally intermediate user of Tableau

*

Understanding and ability to interpret Revenue Growth Management tools
