Senior Business Development Manager - Tax

The organisation's Tax team are looking for an experienced Business Development Professional with the objective of driving revenue growth across core Tax, People and Organisation and Legal services. This role will report directly to the Sales and Marketing Director for Tax, but also be closely aligned to the new business team.

The organisation is looking for someone who is comfortable in front of clients and has a track record of building strong relationships with key decision makers. You will use your expertise and sector specialism to build credibility with clients and internal stakeholders and identify new business opportunities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the new business team to understand client issues as they relate to Tax, Legal and People and Organisation and identify emerging market opportunities.
  • Work with Partners and subject matter experts to develop the overarching Business Development strategy for specific markets and sectors.
  • Drive external client facing activity by securing meetings with new and existing buyers across Tax, People and Organisation and Legal.
  • Establish a network of commercial relationships with key buyers for Tax, Legal and People and Organisation, working closely with the wider New Business Team.
  • Develop a pipeline of opportunities on priority accounts and drive the pursuit process through to conclusion.
  • Working with the Director, lead on the SalesForce strategy for the Tax practice, including overseeing and managing the revenue and pipeline reporting requirements
  • Attend relevant client and/or intermediary events
  • Develop a thorough understanding of your clients key issues and the relevant Tax propositions, ensuring additional cross-sell wherever possible.
  • Support, drive & deliver key national campaigns through your accounts.
  • Coach Partners & Staff on business development best practice.
  • Ensure the messages and learning's from Client Feedback are shared and acted upon
  • Accurately record all business development activity on the CRM system to evidence performance and ROI.
  • Work collaboratively with your colleagues.

Role Requirements

  • Significant experience in a new business development role within a complex service focused organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Pursuit, SPIN, Miller Heiman or another relationship/sales methodology along with evidence of using in practice to drive opportunities through to revenue.
  • Experience of working with SalesForce is preferential
  • Evidence of driving new business on key accounts or across an industry vertical
  • Demonstrate experience of developing and managing relationships with key decision makers at key accounts.
  • A track record of generating revenue with new relationships.
  • The proven ability to develop and drive a sustainable pipeline of opportunities.
  • Previous experience of managing / driving sales campaigns
  • Evidence of working with other teams on cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders at a senior level.
  • An ability to interrogate the local market and identify key trends.
  • Experience of Professional Services would be strongly preferable
  • Experience of operating in a Tax, People and Organisation or Legal Services environment is desirable, but not essential.
