The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) will advocate internally and externally on behalf of Amazon to drive record category growth in Medical Appliances. The SBDM will be an effective driver and communicator in working with some of Amazon.com most important future vendors as well as with internal colleagues (CX, Tech, Amazon Business …) and cross-functional stakeholders across all markets. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail, a solution-oriented mindset, a high level of commitment, proven project management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task.

As a customer-obsessed health enthusiast, you will influence and build relationships with top brands to drive revenue and increase selection. You are deep on retail trends and understand how retail fits into the online medical ecosystem. This position requires an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple teams. The role requires ownership, backbone with internal stakeholders and external partners, and the ability to assess trade-offs and make high-judgement decisions in ambiguous and complex situations. Because we seek to do more with less, you will also be responsible for identifying and executing on opportunities to drive efficiencies and speed-to-market in the product and business development process.

Using your deep knowledge of retail and the medical eco-system you will develop opportunities for Amazon within the Medical Appliances vertical. You are an excellent oral and written communicator and you possess an analytical approach to business development, leveraging data to drive decisions. You are highly organized and have the ability to work closely and constructively with cross-functional teams. You are particularly adept at developing strong, one-to-one relationships and possess a record of accomplishment of successful negotiation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Proven ability to influence others in a business setting
· Fluency in English, excellent communication skills
· Able to work in a diverse team
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Management
· Extensive relevant senior level experience in retail, operations, and/or business management/consulting with a proven track record of delivering results
· Experience in negotiations and vendor management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with business development in the medical industry
· Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes
· Influencing abilities and vendor management experience
· Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
· Highly polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating
· Working in a start-up or early stage environment where you will be defining best practice for your function
· MBA with relevant business experience
