Job Description

Sales Representative


Main Purpose of the Role:

Sales lead for the full range of services offered by MEI: Event attendance, Membership scheme, publications and sponsorship.

Previous Experience:

An opportunity for an ambitious individual with no less than 3 years’ experience of telesales and proven ability to work with little day to day management.

Critical Success Factors:

  • A people person quickly able to build relationships
  • Quick explanation of the value of the proposition over the phone and some face to face meetings
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management when multi-tasking
  • Energy and commitment with the ability to drive and interpret the key tasks above with minimum supervision and prompting
  • Accuracy of recording prospects and tracking follow up to meet financial targets.
  • Some marketing and communication background is desirable but not essential.

Key Tasks

  • Sell tickets to attend seminars and annual seminars run by MEI
  • Sell content feature promotion opportunities in e-publications
  • Identify and recruit new Members to attend induction days
  • Drive revenue through sponsorship of all activities above

Reporting:

Directly to CEO MEI

Place of Employment

  • Central London
  • Occasional visits to client offices and external events
  • Some international travel may be necessary from time to time for up to 5 days away

Ways of Working

  • Standard office hours’ role, less attendance at networking events which will require occasional evening attendance or meeting demanding deadlines

Remuneration and employment terms:

  • Base Salary of £25k plus opportunities for commission above cost recovery
  • Commission to be paid on agreed monthly revenue targets  
  • Pre agreed expenses to be confirmed in writing and paid monthly
  • Pro-rated holiday entitlement
