Elevation Sales are currently working on behalf of a leading metals manufacturing and processing business in South Yorkshire. Our client is currently looking to appoint a new Sales Manager with experience of related metals technologies such as iron, steelmaking, casting and processing who can also act as the Bid Manager for large projects.

This is an integral role for the business and will see the Sales Manager travelling throughout the UK and overseas as part of this role. You should expect to travel circa twice a week in the UK and to be away from home for up to 1 week at a time for overseas trips further afield.

As a Sales Manager you will identify suitable bidding opportunities and develop bidding strategy in order to best meet the needs of the customer, act as Project Manager for the Bid process and all projects allocated to you which will include planning the bidding process, leading the sales and proposals team and negotiating with the customer.

You will also support the General Manager in market intelligence and marketing materials for those projects you are involved with. Other main responsibilities will include;

*Regular visits with existing and potential new clients
*Identify key decision makers and customer investment plans
*Liaise with regional sales teams
*Evaluate enquiries, assess sales opportunities and define the bid strategy and bid budget
*Plan, lead and manage the bid process in compliance with company procedures
*Lead the bid team
*Provide customers with budget price estimates and fixed price offers
*Negotiate and win contracts
*Ensure proper handover from sales to project management after order acquisition

To be considered for this role you must have the following skills and experience

*Degree educated within and engineering or metal processing discipline
*Knowledge of the metals business market, customers, end users, products and applications
*Good leadership and decision making skills
*Excellent level of attention to detail
*Commercial awareness of key legal and contractual issues
*Strong presentation and negotiation skills
*Experienced in building relationships with UK and overseas customers
*Experience of sales and bidding processes
*Previous international travel experience
*Strong experience of leading a bid project team with team members from different disciplines and locations
