This is a very challenging but potentially rewarding role that involves selling our clients Aerosol product range Globally. This is a new position for the company as they expand from research and development company to a fully commercial business. You will need to develop new distributors/sales agents relationships and expand into new areas alongside that of the senior business development executive. You will need to love innovation and new technologies.
The overreaching purpose of the role is the development of the sales operation within the company and efficient running of the sales of aerosol scientific products for our client, and any future products offered. You will be working closely and with the company director and Business Development Executive to reach the strategic objectives of the business. Key to this role is in promoting the company brand and reputation towards being recognised as a leading and innovative technology business in each market. It is a role that will continue to grow and develop. The priority of the position is to generate sales for high-end scientific products within the business to business community.
The key responsibilities of the post are:
Strategic Level Duties
• Formulating a strong sales strategy for company products.
• Overseeing their implementation to deliver the Company's strategic sales objectives.
• Developing sales distributor and sales agent chain, strategic sales plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities established by the director.
• Building a strong global sales presence
• The creation of an effective sales plan each year and ensuring this is fully understood and delivered.
• To work as an effective team member with the Director in delivering company's immediate, medium and long-term objectives.
• Developing a solid sales base of representation for distribution and sales agent partners.
• Overseas travel for sales representation
• Sales lead generation campaigns
The duties to be undertaken in this position are broad spectrum as the role is new to the company, so there is plenty of room for development and furthering your sales and business experience. The focus of the role is to assist in delivering sales strategy across the products of our client and generate scientific sales lead generation activity by helping local regional distributors and sales agents.
You will be responsible for the day to day sales management and development of sales strategies and this will involve attendance to conferences both in the UK and globally with a view to raising the company profile within the industries, including attending trade events. You will be targeting market areas to increase the visibility of the company with a limited budget. You will be ensuring the company’s presence at key client/industry events and helping build the pipeline of networking opportunities that will lead to increase business for the company.
The role will suit a good sales professional, competent and enthusiastic person who is able to communicate well at all levels and will not be put off by the scientific community. A knowledge of science field is advantageous. It is an all-around sales role, so the ideal candidate will have experience with integrated sales campaign planning and be delivering results. Daily activities will involve developing a CRM database to manage a pipeline of prospects so that you can contact them at the appropriate time, emailing and phoning distributors and prospects, liaising with colleagues, and researching opportunities for new business be it through a distributor, sales agents or direct.
The role works to an annual sales target and involves international travel to conferences. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in sales ideally in Science field and be motivated by achieving targets. You will be looking to progress your career. You’ll be keen to learn a complex scientific product market and develop product knowledge as quickly as possible, alongside building relationships with team members, colleagues in other departments, distributors and with customers.
You should be an exceptional communicator who can convey complex ideas clearly and concisely via telephone, email and in person. You must also have strong organisational and project sales management skills and the ability to nurture customers throughout the sales cycle.

You will have the desire and ability to be able to grow sales in scientific products within the business to business arena and do so effectively and swiftly on a limited budget. A basic knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, Electronics and Biology would be advantageous for this role as well as a desire for science and innovation. You will ideally have at least 2-3 years’ success in business to business sales management, much preferably with international or export sales experience.

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Holiday Entitlement: 25 Days
