Main Purpose

  • Proactively identify and target new business opportunities within the Automotive industry.
  • Retain and support existing customer and distributor base.
  • Achieve sales and competency targets as laid out by the business.

Description

  • To generate new business opportunities for my client within the automotive industry, within agreed timescales covering the whole of the UK and overseas as required.
  • To proactively manage the Tender and Bid process.
  • To identify new business opportunities and build a national and international winnable new business pipeline.
  • To manage existing customers within the automotive sector to maximise sales and ensure high levels of service and support.
  • To complete all administration, reports and requests on time and within guidelines.
  • To communicate and support internal departments, specifically, sales, marketing, accounts, product and technical to ensure that everyone concerned has input to, or knowledge of, new business opportunities, process and progress.
  • To ensure the customer/distributor is provided with all appropriate information and support to ensure the safe and effective use of the products.
  • To attend sales meetings, conferences, exhibitions and training courses when requested by the company.
  • To achieve and exceed sales target and personal objectives in the manner set out.

Profile

The position of Sales Manager requires a disciplined candidate who can work autonomously and be able to communicate with multiple external and internal stakeholders. The ideal applicant must therefore be self-motivated, and in addition possess the following qualifications

  • A suitable qualification in business, sales or demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • A knowledge of the automotive industry is preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge and competency of computer packages such as MS Office
