Sales Manager – Domestic Heating Controls

Job Title: Trade Sales Manager – Domestic Heating Controls

Industry Sector: Central Heating Controls, Plumbing & Heating Merchants and Distributors, Electrical Wholesale, Independent Merchants, Plumbing & Heating Contractors / Installers and small House Builders

Area to be covered:  South London, Southern Home Counties, Hampshire, East & West Sussex and the East of Berkshire

Remuneration: £35,000 Neg. + 10% Bonus

Benefits: Company Car + full benefits package

The role of the Trade Sales Manager Domestic Heating Controls will involve:

·         Field sales position, selling predominantly domestic central heating controls, plus also where possible passing opportunities for heat metering and district heating systems to the specification field sales team

·         60-70% of your time stimulating demand with plumbing & heating contractors / installers and smaller housebuilders

·         Understanding who their customers are, and working with their customers to stimulate demand for products

·         30-40% of your time managing circa 10-15 direct live accounts including plumbing & heating merchants, electrical wholesalers and independent merchants

·         Offering advise on promotions, merchandising (small amount), providing support, technical input, passing on sales leads etc

·         Inhering an area on target to achieve circa £550,000 (approx. 80% of budget year ending in March 2018)

·         Targeted to achieve £550,000 2018/2019

·         Four days a week on the road, one day a week (Friday) working from home – administration

·         Two/Three client calls per day

The ideal applicant will be a Trade Sales Manager Domestic Heating Controls with:

·         Proven plumbing & heating field sales track record of success

·         Must have sold to plumbing & heating contractors / installers

·         Must be able to articulate at interview what you wish to achieve when you get up in the morning, how you would plan your day and what the reasons are for visiting customers (research etc.)

·         Flexible approach, able to deal with the cut throat areas in South London as well as the affluent areas such as Kent, Surrey etc.

·         Bright, intelligent, with attention to detail and methodical organisational skills

·         Ideally managed merchants, distributors or electrical wholesale accounts

·         Knowledge of domestic heating controls is not essential as full product training will be provided

·         Enthusiastic, hungry and comfortable working with an evolving business

·         IEE electrical/electronics HNC / HND or equivalent would be a bonus

·         Experience in a related plumbing and heating trade would be advantageous

·         Problem solving skills and ability to deal with challenging environment
