A Sheffield based, engineering and manufacturing company, with over 160 years of innovation in identification and traceability of components is looking for a dynamic new member of its sales department to develop its international distribution network for its machinery range of products.
Pryor Marking Technology was founded in Sheffield in 1849 and has been designing and manufacturing the world’s leading permanent marking products in the city ever since. Today Pryor offers bespoke systems, robot mounted and multi-axis machines using laser, scribing and punch marking along with its own package of software and vision tools. Pryor sells in over 50 countries worldwide and is market leader in the aerospace industry. It has a long-established network of around 30, third party distributors across 5 continents responsible for promoting, selling and servicing the machinery products in their region.
This is a full-time vacancy for an International Sales Engineer reporting to the Machinery Sales Manager with full responsibility for managing the existing network and expanding it.
Key responsibilities and skills required are:
» Account management of international machinery distributors
» Delivering targets for distribution accounts, including turnover, profitability and satisfaction
» Annual contract negotiation with distributors to target long term, profitable growth
» Search for, evaluate and appoint new distributors in unrepresented locations as deemed strategically beneficial
» Single point of contact into Pryor for day to day open issues, technical and commercial
» Promotion of Pryor product range and benefits to distributors through a variety of means, including face to face meetings, bulletins, training and regular phone contact
» Processing sales leads to ensure that a suitable distributor response is given to end users
» Significant international travel, to develop relationships with distributor contacts, support them in customer visits, presentations and trade shows
» Development of sales and marketing resources to facilitate distributor sales in their territory
» Interfacing internally in Pryor with design, project management, production, logistics and support teams to develop distributor sales and provide excellent customer service
The ideal candidate would have the following knowledge and experience:
» Experience of B2B sales of capital equipment to manufacturing industry
» Proven track record of managing global customer accounts
» Strong communication skills, including ability to manage cross-cultural relationships
» Proven ability to engage at all levels of a customer account, senior management to shop floor
» Project management skills
» Relevant engineering degree
» Sufficient technical skills to explain and demonstrate standard machinery, vision and software products to engineering contacts within customers
