With full P and L and sales budget and forecasting responsibility this is a dual management and business development role. The management aspect involves managing and motivating a team of senior Account Directors and junior Account/ Sales Managers plus an internal/ office based sales team. The business development aspect will involve leading from the front in terms of initiating and developing relationships from senior operational manager up to board and CEO level with major multiple retailers enabling you to keep my client at the forefront of developments in the retail market and ideally to influence and drive those future developments. Thus producing profitable strategic project business which then feeds down to tactical and the more transactional pure product based sales, and to track and monitor successes and crucially predict the sales pipeline and be proactive in driving and managing it. REQUIREMENTS - Sales Director - Retail Interiors, Display, POS, POP, Shopfitting, Shop Fixtures
You will need to have an excellent knowledge of retail operations, customer insight and behaviours and be able to converse and sell credibly at a high level with clients. Ideally you will come from a senior operational role at a retailer and moved into a sales management or Directorship role selling into that environment. You could come directly from one of these senior operational roles in a retailer, or you could come from a sales management role in an allied area, for example POS/ POP or marketing/ design solutions to retail. Either way you will have management experience and have a structured, but dynamic approach to managing a senior sales team, with the motivation and mind set to drive past, not just hit, sales targets.
