Sales Director, based Chepstow. Monmouthshire. £80,000 Basic, Six figure Management Bonus + Executive Car + Excellent Benefits Package. As part of a major reinvestment, our client is looking to recruit an exceptional Sales Director to drive their growth internationally.

The key basic criteria that we are looking for are:

+ Technical sales experience - ideally of capital equipment in an engineering/industrial or construction environment

+ Sales Leadership of internal and external sales teams - recruiting/driving/coaching/mentoring, etc.

+ International Sales Exposure - setting up and managing agent/distribution networks, etc.

+ Strong Strategic ability - a proven record of delivering business growth by taking a business from x to y, possibly backed by a formal qualification, such as an MBA

+ Experience working in a smaller business, i.e. not all experience from within large corporates.

You will set the strategy and delivery model to achieve growth. You will recruit the talent required to deliver on your plan and drive the implementation on the ground. Significant resource will be made available to you and you will have the full cooperation and support of the board and the wider business to deliver on your joint ambitions.

This business has grown sharply and steadily for a number of years, they are ahead of the market in terms of product and delivering new and ever-improving solutions. They are stable and financially very strong, possessing both the intent and resources to ensure that their growth plans are realised.

  • Degree educated (2:1 or above) or can demonstrate how they became successful without a degree education
  • Has worked in an international manufacturing business, ideally with industrial market experience and can bring a wide circle of influence to the business
  • Has export sales experience and can demonstrate success
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor others
  • Can be coached
  • Lack of ego
  • Analytical - seeks to understand results and outcomes
  • Able to think strategically about business outcomes and what is required for success
  • Able to collaborate with and get the best out of colleagues
  • Assertive without being abrasive. Able to keep all members of the team on track.
  • Superb communication skills; written, listening, presenting, speaking
  • Inquisitive and proactive
  • Thrives on ownership, responsibility and accountability
  • Leads by example
  • Highly efficient and strong work ethic (Driven by success)
  • Highly enthusiastic about sales skills and negotiation and can demonstrate how to close deals
  • Experienced in using, implementing and developing CRM systems
  • Capable of managing a budget and effectively allocating resources for maximum return
  • To be able to work competently under pressure
  • Attention to detail and excellence are core disciplines
  • Displays honesty and integrity and can demonstrate these characteristics
  • Able to travel overseas on a regular basis

Above all you will be a dynamic achiever, perhaps frustrated by a lack of autonomy or lack of ability to demonstrate your commercial creativity and entrepreneurship in your current role.
