About the role

Working within our fantastic Cardiff office, you’ll be focussed on selling our Investment Bond proposition, over the telephone to a panel of Financial Advisers. There will also be an element of focus on our pensions range. This role is an ideal first step into the Financial Services sales arena, as you look to progress your career into the wider Pensions and Investment market.

This is a sales role and you’ll predominately make outbound calls to your panel of Financial Advisers. You will provide the Financial Advisers with knowledgeable and factual information about LV= Individual Pension and Investment bonds. You’ll therefore, keep your product and industry knowledge up to date, so you become their trusted consultant and go to person.

You’ll develop relationships; building strong, trusted and sustainable partnerships with your panel of Financial Advisers, ensuring you provide value added service to enable them to recommend LV= products to their clients and achieve your individual sales targets. You will influence, sell and handle objections so that the Adviser recommends LV= products ahead of our competitors.

You’ll be working 35 hours per week between the hours of 9am to 5.00pm (weekends and bank holidays are not a requirement of this role). The Retirement Consultant position comes with a competitive base salary, a sales bonus (depending on performance) and study support towards professional qualifications. You’ll work for a lovely company with some very lovely people!

About you

The successful individual will come from a financial services background and have knowledge of the Financial Adviser / Intermediary market. Preferably, you will have recent experience of managing a panel of IFAs and delivery of associated sales targets, although this is not essential.

We’d ideally like you to have a relevant professional financial services qualification (such as; FPC 1, 2 & 3 or CF1 to 5 or equivalent) although, again, this is not essential. It’s more important to us that you have the desire and commitment to work towards this as part of your own career development, enabling you to present yourself as a retirement industry specialist. We will support your study and development in order to achieve this.

You’ll have excellent telephone communication skills, the ability to build long lasting relationships and be an influential person. You’re hands-on, proactive and determined to be the best when it comes to knowing your stuff, selling products and exceeding your individual targets. You take initiative, pride in your work and are very well organised. You’ll love nothing more than working as part of a team and independently you’re just as confident. You instinctively know what you need to do and when in order to do your bit to achieve a team goal. You are driven to deliver your call activity KPIs and sales targets.
