Retail Sales Manager – £27,500 + bonus + commission structure – Manchester, UK

The Role

We are seeking a talented and capable Retail Sales Manager who is driven to success and will be able to help us achieve our vision of becoming the UK’s leading, independent flooring and furniture specialists. This role is not just about finalising a deal or arranging a fitting. It’s about the customers experience and ensuring that they are happy every step of the way, that they know should they need further assistance you will be willing to help them to the best of your ability.

We don’t expect you perfect in every way; we just need you to be the right person for the job with proven experience and a strong track record in sales and leadership. You must be willing to work as part of a team and as an individual, to bring fresh ideas to the store that could be implemented to the day to day process to improve sales and ease of use. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within sales in the retail industry.

The key responsibilities of a Retail Sales Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Coming up with and offering solutions to customers and staff, ensuring all customers are left with a happy experience they’d recommend
  • Providing estimates to customers and converting leads
  • Ensuring invoices and estimates are received, understood and paid for
  • Maintaining stock levels and new products to the market
  • Recognising new business opportunities and pursuing them
  • Ensuring all appointments are kept and that customers are advised of any changes
  • Ensuring that all takings are tracked and reported daily
  • Enforcing and tracking store sales and performance targets
  • Reporting directly to the company directors with financial reports

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Retail Sales Manager:

  • A passion for customer service and the ability to stand out from competitors in all aspects
  • Proven record of managing a small team and planning and enforcing a staff rota
  • Punctual, well-mannered and presentable, comfortable in a managerial and sales role
  • Experienced and professional with computers and typing, and proficient in maths or in the use of a calculator
  • Leads by example and inspires others to achieve the best they can while working with you
  • Full UK licence with access to a vehicle
