We are recruiting a Regulatory Liaison Manager to join us in our London office. In this role you will assist with the management of the relationship with both the PRA and FCA on behalf of the AXA UK Group in order to achieve a good working relationship with both and ensure a consistency between the entities within the AXA UK Group.
* Assist the Senior Compliance and Regulatory Liaison
Manager and the Regulatory and Compliance Director in building and maintaining
an effective working relationship with both the PRA and FCA and ensure a
consistency between the entities within the AXA UK Group. This includes proactive participation in the
relationship, application of appropriate controls and contributing to high
quality provision of information to the PRA and FCA (excluding Solvency II
Financial Reporting) in relation to the PRA and FCA’s supervisory and policy
* To support the Senior Compliance and Regulatory Liaison
Manager and the Regulatory and Compliance Director in ensuring AXA UK
Executives, Non-Executives and Senior Managers are appropriately fully
conversant on areas of regulator focus and activity; enabling senior management
to make appropriate and informed strategic decisions and operate in compliance
with legal and regulatory obligations.
* To support AXA UK Executives, Non-Executives and Senior
Managers by attending meetings with the FCA and PRA, taking accurate notes of
the discussion topic and actions and facilitating the completion of said
actions. Agreeing records of meetings
with AXA UK Executives, Non-Executives and Senior Managers and the FCA/PRA to
ensure regulatory and business expectations are met.
* To manage and oversee information sharing with the
FCA/PRA in support of regulatory reviews and market focus, ensuring information
is accurate and provided in a timely manner.
* To build and maintain
relationships with the wider Compliance and Regulatory function, UK Risk teams
and the first line businesses to provide them with support on the
identification, interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements, policies
and standards - consistent with the AXA
UK and Group policies - to enhance the development of practical but effective
* Support the Senior
Compliance and Regulatory Liaison Manager and the Regulatory and Compliance
Director in the provision of reporting around regulatory matters to AXA Group.
* To oversee the
arranging of regulatory meetings and provision of high-quality information the
FCA and PRA in a timely manner in order to support the regulatory relationship.
* To represent and
support the Senior Compliance and Regulatory Liaison Manager on any ad hoc
matters as required.
Degree/equivalent level qualification in relevant subject.
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of the regulatory landscape and prior experience of regulatory relationship management.
Excellent oral/written communication, reporting, planning and project management skills.
Excellent stakeholder management, relationship building, and influencing skills, including the ability to change culture - through persuasive communications, stimulating growth and leadership. This needs to be demonstrated at all levels of management including Executive Directors.
Drives strategic change initiatives through effective project management and collaborative working practices.
Solves problems - through the ability to understand the issues, develop ideas and take the risk to act on them.
Analyses and interprets data – strong attention to detail and ability to analyse, interpret and challenge data.
Focuses on results – through drive, raising the standards and ability to execute.
Builds credibility – through commercial and technical knowledge. Uses this knowledge to challenge the data and action plans submitted by the business.
Good understanding of Insurance, Assurance and Distribution business.
Excellent understanding of current & emerging regulatory issues in the insurance industry.
Extensive experience in a Compliance function, in key influencing roles.
Extensive financial services experience.
Process improvement and/or experience of delivering change (project management).
