Regional Sales Manager - (Domestic and Industrial Security Products) - South East of England

Salary £35-40k depending on experience + Bonus and Company car, laptop, tablet and mobile

Location Covering South East of England, ideally will be based North of London

Relationship Building/Account Management experience
Experienced in sales (B2B would be an advantage but not essential)
Knowledge and experience
General knowledge of the market i.e. physical security solutions, including Garage Doors, Security Shutters, Fire Shutters and Retractable Window Grilles. General competitor Knowledge. Experience successfully working across multiple departments ideally manufacturing and distribution and B2B Sales. Experience in developing, building relationships telephonically

The Role
This well established company have the need to appoint an experience Regional Sales Manager to cover the South East of England. The person should have experience and a proven track record in B2B sales. The product is domestic and industrial security products. The right candidate would need to be based within easy distance of the M25 ideally within a 50 mile radius.
Primary objective
To manage the successful development of both sales and customer relationships in the assigned geographical area, in line with the agreed sales development strategy.

Key responsibilities
In a defined sales territory, the Regional Sales Manager shall be responsible to source, acquire, and develop new prospects and maintain and service the existing customer base to increase sales and marketing of all present and future product lines. Prepare action plans and schedules to identify targets and contacts to be made. Identify, research, and contact prospective distributors and build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.
Assesses the needs of distributors and recommend appropriate actions, goods and/or services. Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organisation so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands. Develop long-term sales plans for key customers and accounts. Monitor and adapt sales activities so that these objectives are met. Using the tools provided, prepare a variety of status reports as required by the company. Communicate new products and service opportunities, special developments, information and feedback gathered through field activities. Where necessary train customers’ staff in the operation and maintenance of products.
As directed by the National sales manager participate in, regional and national trade shows, and attend sales meetings. Travel as required within the assigned sales territory. Whilst maintaining an effective journey plan, generally 1-3 days per week away from home, UK travel only. Undertake other duties as required.

Identifying areas for account growth, profitability and cost saving. Identification and subsequent maximisation of opportunities within the territory. Present the company and its products in a positive and professional manner. Manage customer expectations so that the company wherever possible , can consistently meet or exceed those expectations. In instances where expectations have not been met(e.g. quality, delivery, price or functionality) develop effective solutions and report as necessary to relevant departments throughout the organisation. Develop and document action plans for each market and account as required to meet or exceed the period budget. Analyse specific accounts and markets monthly, quarterly and annually as compared to the established sales budget, and initiate corrective and preventative measure should their performance not meet expectations. Ability to obtain buy in from other department throughout the company by directly and effectively interfacing with regularly. Solicit assistance from National sales manager to resolve resource conflicts. Identify potential customers and ability to convert potential customers into live, consistent customers

Does not need industry experience.Will need to be flexible in terms of travel. Commissions/Bonus is paid per period and would be up to £3K, will be further discussed at interview.
Clean drivers licence.
Some weekend work for Trade Shows.
Will be provided with a company car, laptop and phone.
Team structure: 2 other Regional Sales Managers and 1 Product Manager covering all areas. Further backed up by a team of 40 in the office who cover Tech and Sales & Customer support over the phone.
Covering the South East of England, ideally will be based North of London (will consider other areas). There is a requirement to visit the office in Lancaster around every 6 weeks and may stay up to a week.
Will need to be someone who is happy to be away from home for periods of time.
Car - BMW 3 series or equivalent
