The Pricing & Promotions International team implements and subsequently analyses the efficacy of our promotional strategies throughout EMEA and APAC. As a Price and Promotions Manager, you will be responsible for the management and evolution of all product and order discount-related initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to support all of Groupon's lines of business (Local, Goods, Getaways, and Events) by partnering with multiple functions: merchandising, finance, marketing, inventory, and legal.
By building a pre-qualifying process to help identify which products will be top performers, you will measure the success of all promotional strategies and understand the true impact of promotional activity. Regular monitoring of the market to understand competitors’ promotional activity will also be important. You will have the luxury of building a promotional strategy from the ground up that protects Groupon from being over-reliant on promotional activity in order to maintain weekly sales targets. Focusing on the delicate balance of spending OD on activating customer versus keeping our loyal customers happy.

You’ll spend time on the following:
You will define, analyse, and review business metrics to continually evaluate and refine promotional practices, tactics, and strategy
Drive the implementation of tactical and strategic promotional initiatives and strategy changes, addressing process, technical requirements and change management
Provide inputs to the promotional roadmap, ensuring promo systems support implementing the planned promotional strategy and process changes
Lead weekly reviews of promotional strategy
Propose and present changes to promotions to leadership to deliver sales plan and project impact to monthly sales / discount rate and gross margin targets
Lead weekly system promotional changes for all product areas by partnering with relevant merchandising teams and owning weekly approval processes
Own all relevant templates relating to the pricing and promotion strategy proposing meaningful updates to improve reporting and drive efficiencies
Collaborate with pricing, merchandising, and marketing teams to understand the impact of direct and cross elasticity on promotional performance
Work closely with pricing counterparts to utilise elastic data derived from historic transactional data and other sources
Ensure all promotions are legal, logical, effective, and competitive within the international marketplace
We’re excited about you if you have:
2+ years of promotional experience within an online retail environment
Experienced trade planning background for a FMCG business
Previous experience of Co-Op and Vendor Funded Marketing within a commercial environment
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management Science, Mathematics or Economics required, Master's degree a plus
You can eloquently communicate goals, plans, and strategy across all levels of the business
You have a builder mentality; you identify problems quickly and are eager to build solutions from scratch, not just improve on others' work
Promotional consultancy experience useful
1+ years of Project Management experience
Bonus points awarded for advanced Excel, SQL, data visualisation and Tableau skills
