Pre-Sales Solution Engineer - Cloud Access Services

£60K Basic, £72K OTE inc. bonuses
Our Client provide managed internet and Cloud Access services on a global scale. They offer Enterprise-grade internet access services and a Global portfolio of high quality, cost-efficient and fully supported iVPN, DM-VPN, Hybrid WAN, and SD-WAN services with local internet breakout to access any cloud application Globally. They are currently looking for an experienced Pre-Sales Solution Engineer based either in London or Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
As our Solution Engineer you will play a key consulting role in designing and delivering solutions for the multinational enterprise cloud based solutions, while applying the right balance of traditional technologies and new Cloud enabling applications. The Pre Sales Engineer is a member of the Sales team and reports to the VP Commercial Development who is based in the Netherlands and the VP Product & Solution Sales who is based in Asia.
In the role, you will articulate our Client’s business proposition, probing and understanding our customer’s requirements. You will perform technical pre-qualification / due diligence of opportunities, including recommending bid/no bid decisions, providing Internet and Cloud applications technical expertise across the business. You will also be responsible for responding to Customer RFP/RFI/RFQ technical questions, producing high level designs, build-level configuration and configuration detail and developing, documents and presenting detailed migration planning methodology from traditional (MPLS only) to Hybrid and/or and Full Public cloud. You will also need to engage with and evaluate new network technologies working closely with strategic business partners.
The ideal candidate will have a strong telecommunications background, preferably Internet and Cloud; Working knowledge of Global Internet routing (incl. BGP automation / IP optimization); Cisco Certified – CCNP / CCDP, with proven track record of IP-VPN setup (i.e. DMVPN v3 / multiple head-ends); Proven background in designing large enterprise IT and Global Network Solutions, including Cloud Application Integration and Exposure to SDN approach / SD-WAN concepts and/or working experience with relevant industry vendors is an advantage.
You will need to be comfortable and able to operate within a presales and technical lead role, have extensive experience of working in a consultative manner at a senior level with our customers and have good customer facing communication skills – presentations, meeting control, qualification, etc. You will be results driven, creative, persistent, proactive and a team player, willing and able to work unsociable hours and comfortable in a high-paced dynamic, work environment.
Experience in the following technology areas is also beneficial: Access technologies like xDSL, Ethernet, WDM, VSAT; logical backbone setup – Dot1x, QinQ, PBB-TE; Traffic shaping and prioritisation in large scale networks.
