Introduction

We need:

* An Operations Manager in the Cloud Governance Team, based in our head offices in Swindon.

* Salary £42,000 to £61,000 a year (dependent on skills, experience and current remuneration) based on a 12-month , 35 hour per week, Fixed Term Contract.

Nationwide is going into the cloud, this will enable us to develop better services for members and improve the pace at which we can make those services available.

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for a dedicated, dynamic and forward-thinking Operations Manager to set up our new Cloud Governance Team, who can bring experience of leading a team to a fast-paced changing and regulated environment.

As a minimum requirement you’ll:

* Have experience of operational management, including financial management, resource management and the provision of operational and performance reporting

* Be a confident, dynamic and an inspirational leader of people

* Carry out all elements of line management

* Have a sound knowledge of governance frameworks, including best practices and process management

* Engage with stakeholders at all levels, have strong influencing skills and the ability to challenge

* Be exceptional at planning and organising

* Have good skills and knowledge of using Microsoft Office

* Have a proven ability to innovate and drive continuous efficiency improvements

* Be able to work independently with guidance

It would be nice but not essential if you also had knowledge of:

* Society Cloud Strategy

* Cloud Computing service models

* Cloud Service Providers

* Financial Services regulations

* Risk and/or Compliance

What you'll be doing

Governance and ensuring the Right Services in the Right place is fundamental to the Society objective of Safely and Securely using Cloud Services. The Could Governance team will;

* Manage the process of governing Cloud use cases to ensure appropriate due diligence

* Maintain the register (metrics) of all approved use cases via the Cloud tracker

* Maintain control and visibility of the Cloud Governance pipeline

* Engage with the relevant KCFs on delivering the process and its improvements

* Work with Architecture to manage a retrospective review of Cloud deployments

* Feedback leaning and improvements from the process

Reporting to a Senior Enterprise Architect in the Chief Technology Office, within Operations & Delivery, you’ll have complete responsibility for the day to day management of the newly formed Cloud Governance Team. Key responsibilities will include:

* Providing high quality reporting and Management Information for Board IT & Resilience Committee and the Executive committee (Exco)

* Set up and maintain the Cloud Governance processes and boards

* Regular liaison with Vendor Management and Risk

* Day to day management of an operational team, including:
- Performance management
- Ensuring the team are appropriately skilled

* Bring a strong focus on meaningful roles for all, and ‘value add’ activities

* Implement industry best practice standards across the team

* Be involved in delivering the teams core responsibilities

* Ensure Cloud services are captured and reported correctly to the relevant governing bodies
