Our North East based client are looking for a National Account Manager (Food Service). The client are keen to see candidates who have demonstrable experience of selling packaging in the Food Service sector along with a strong background in B2B Sales and Account Management.

Client Details

The client are a premier FMCG company based in North East.


The National Account Manager (Food Service) responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and introduce long term relationships with current and potential customers to enable you to increase the volume and value of your assigned territory on a year by year basis.
  • To carry out negotiations with customers to ensure that you are obtaining the maximum revenue and profitability from your designated area.
  • Ensure that the Company is carrying the minimum amount of stock for your customers without jeopardising the supply position.
  • Deal quickly and efficiently with any outstanding debtor or stock problems.
  • Provide ongoing forecast sales figures via a monthly demand meeting to enable the Company to plan production demand.
  • Work closely with Customer Services team to ensure that your customers are receiving exceptional service.
  • Perform market analysis and research to support the business and underpin strategic decisions.
  • Plan, design and develop new solutions and associated activities.
  • Developing product line training aids, support trade shows and provide internal communication on product line activities and status.


The successful National Account Manager (Food Service) will have the following demonstrable skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of selling packaging in the Food Service sector
  • Sound commercial acumen with financial appreciation of costings and pricing
  • An understanding of thermoformed packaging
  • Proven experience as an Account Manager with in a B2B Business service environment
  • Proven ability in negotiation and closing deals
  • Excellent communication skills - written, listening and spoken
  • Impeccable time keeping skills
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Excellent sales negotiator
  • Able to work autonomously as well as in a team
  • Personable, Assertive, Confident, Analytical, Enthusiastic, Proactive
  • IT Literate
  • Good standard of education
  • Ideally, the candidate will be North East England based

Job Offer

Excellent salary £40-£50k DOE + Car + Bonus
