Permanent Position - IT Sales - Account Manager

Reference - 12401

Location - South East England based

Salary - circa 50,000 base + double OTE + Benefits package

Exciting opportunity to join a Global IT Solutions and Managed Services provider who are looking to expand the team. They are currently looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Account Manager who is hungry to generate new business. This will be a mix of Hunting and farming with new and existing accounts.

Reporting to the Sales Director you will work towards your own personal gross profit and services target. You will be responsible for the end to end sales cycle - creating new business and growing your own account base. Selling an extensive range of solutions and services including vendor solutions with Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, HPE, Netapp etc. Company deals with both Private and Public sector clients.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing customer base, delivering exceptional service through your own efforts and the wider team
  • Target new business through direct prospect communication, campaigns, Partners, consultant relationships, tender participation and existing business network/customer knowledge
  • Continuously increase product knowledge, sales skills/techniques and commercial acumen
  • Create proposals
  • Create, develop and regularly review your sales strategy and business plan to achieve the required objectives with the Sales Director
  • Use CRM and create, maintain and manage an accurate opportunity pipeline
  • Achieve commercial and KPI targets
  • Operate within a virtual team (includes Presales/Solutions Consultants, Technical Consultants, Service Delivery Managers, and Project Manager etc.) and hold commercial responsibility and bid sign off responsibility before release.
  • Play a key part in educating the operational team of the scope and delivery requirements for your customer.
  • Work closely with partners, pre-sales and design teams to ensure the right supply chain is available to maximise and win opportunities.
  • Lead presentation opportunities and project interviews as required.
  • Take commercial responsibility throughout the delivery phase of won projects and communicate effectively with key stakeholders throughout.

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in IT sales (Selling IT Solutions and Services - Infrastructure/networking/software etc)
  • Previous experience of generating new business from scratch along with strong account management
  • Possess high levels of motivation, ambition and commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven organisational and time management skills
