Client Details

My client is a well-established global consumer good business who are based in Hertfordshire , currently seeking a International Account Manager to join the high performing sales team.


International Account Manager

To develop and gain greater market share with our existing customer base, and open and develop new accounts with key major retailers. Develop distributor partners in key markets where direct to retailers is not feasible.

Has primary responsibility for managing and developing accounts in international markets, and the achievement of sales targets in line with the company's growth ambitions.

  • Achieving sales and revenue targets and growth in line with company expectations and budgets
  • Developing and implementing a sales strategy/ plan for each key account to grow accounts organically and increase sales revenue
  • Increase market share and Develop new accounts
  • Where dealing directly with retailers is not feasible, appoint and develop distributor partners
  • Analysing each account and undertake range analysis to recommend and support clear strategy for growth
  • Nurturing relationships with the buying and merchandising teams where appropriate
  • Communicating with all departments within the customer base to ensure a smooth supply chain
  • Producing monthly and quarterly forecasts and measure actual against forecast
  • Driving KPIs and performance improvement
  • Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
  • Work closely with internal departments e.g Pre-Sales, Sales Admin, Buying, Supply chain
  • Attend Trade Fairs when required


International Account Manager

  • Proven track record in dealing with national accounts and/or distributors in various international markets, preferably Eastern Europe, Asia and Middle East, and delivering an effective sales strategy, ideally from a non-food environment, although Grocery channel experience welcomed.
  • Some experience in account development and management with well-known high street retailers is preferable.
  • Distributor management experience
  • Experience selling FOB China and ex France/UK warehouse
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set with the ability to spot and develop new business opportunities
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and results orientated
  • Resilient and willing to persevere in challenging environments to secure business to meet the company's growth ambitions
  • Net-worker and skilled influencer
