Internal Sales Engineer - Vision Technology / Artificial Intelligence / Automation
Didcot, Oxford
£32,000 OTE (uncapped) £29,000 basic salary + £3,000 bonus scheme, pension, company health scheme

++ An opportunity exists for a Sales Engineer to join a leading dynamic company operating in a high technology market ++

We are one of the leading companies for the sale and support of integrated vision solutions to industry. Our core activities involve the development of highly innovative automated inspection solutions for the pharmaceutical, medical devices and automotive industries. Our work covers the full range of factory automation processes and procedures including mechanical design, electrical control, machine vision and installation. 

We have a growing user base of blue chip customers in these markets, with hundreds of systems currently installed around the world.

We offer a great opportunity for a bright person with plenty of initiative to gain a good understanding of the way industry operates, whilst developing their own skills and contributing to the overall development of the organisation. There is good opportunity to progress to an external sales role for the right candidate.

The Internal Sales Engineer Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Internal Sales, to help grow our end-user business within the UK and Ireland. The machine vision market is a rapidly growing segment using advanced vision technology and artificial intelligence to implement quality control, robotics, guidance and inspection solutions.

Good experience in internal sales would be an advantage. You’ll spend the majority of your time dedicated to outbound hunting via telephone and email from leads of trade show, website and word of mouth referrals to develop new opportunities, as well as time qualifying and converting new business leads for the external sales team. 

The individual must be results driven and have the ability to contribute to a highly motivated and quality organisation. The goal is find and convert end-user opportunities into significant billing customers. Full training will be provided.

Internal Sales Engineer Knowledge and Skills Required:

We are looking to recruit a keen and enthusiastic Internal Sales Engineer who can work effectively as part of small yet busy team. It would welcome applicants with the following attributes:


+ A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an engineering sales role.
+ Proven sales ability as well as experience selling technology solutions.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills – both written and verbal.
+ Well organised, ability to work to deadlines and a high attention to detail.
+ Ability to prioritise a heavy workload.
+ Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
+ Clean and full UK driving licence.

Equally important will be the candidates’ intellect, willingness to learn, ability to build relationships, putting themselves in others’ shoes, while always making a positive impact with our clients and each other.


+ Educated to degree level preferably in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Design, Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
+ Experience/knowledge of industrial automation.
