Job Title: Internal Communications Manager

Working Hours: Part time – 3 days per week

Key relationships: Senior Leadership Team, All Departments and External companies

Role Overview

The Internal Communications Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring all our employees are updated and informed of business updates, news and events ensuring that the messaging is appropriate and cascaded timely and effectively. The Internal Communication Manager will also have line manager responsibility for the Business Change Communications Executive.


Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Develop an internal communication strategy and launch a communications platform eg SharePoint including identifying, developing and managing content, developing the platform as a communications tool to reach all employees and developing campaigns to maximise usage

* To write and/or edit all corporate internal communications materials such as companywide messages, business updates and news stories ensuring complex messages are tailored into short and succinct business updates presented to a variety of audiences in an accessible way

* Develop and work in partnership with Learning and Development Manager to drive the Engagement Strategy and ensure all areas of the business contribute and provide representation

* Design and implement employee communication campaigns for key areas and initiatives including driving Engagement, Health and Safety and Employee Wellbeing

* Support the promotion and communication of People Surveys, including results and post-survey action plan to drive engagement

* Work closely with different departments across the business to source positive or interesting news to build our employee engagement

* Ensure all relevant external communication is presented to potential applicants via various platforms

* Support the business in identifying and planning out initiatives that will support its vision, strategy and goals

* Ensure all communications are linked to the company’s vision, strategy and branding criteria

* Source and communicate social, fundraising and departmental successes

* Oversee and coordinate internal Events such as Roadshows, Celebration Parties, Chosen Charity Fundraisers

* Management of all communication channels ensuring they are accurate and maintained

* Management of the Business Change Communications Executive

* Tailor complex messages into short and succinct business updates presented to a variety of audiences in an accessible way

* Ensure all information and content is created accurately and delivered on time to meet specific business deadlines

Key Skills

* Proven experience within an internal communications, PR or similar role

* Excellent verbal and written skills

* Strong attention to detail especially in relation to compliance within our industries

* Skilled networker with the ability to liaise at all levels internally and externally

* Experience of following up news stories to maximise employee engagement

* Experience of developing multi-channel communication campaigns online and offline with traditional media such as posters

* Strong visual skills

* Self-motivated, ability to work under pressure and on own initiative

* Experience of SharePoint desirable
