The modern successful retail business generates sales from a mixture of channels. This could be in-store, online/E-Commerce or over the phone. The best retail businesses do this very well and work together across all channels to provide a great Customer Experience and ultimately, grow the business.

If you know this and your background is leading sales teams with companies where reputation comes before quick-win tactics, this could be a brilliant opportunity for you. The business has been consistently successful, despite the pandemic, and takes a modern approach to their sales process. You'll be a key cog in a well-oiled machine, managing the inbound sales team who take a consultative approach to telephone customer queries/orders. You'll also be overseeing the physical stores and ensuring the buying experience for a customer is as good as it can be. The business sells a range of premium products, so the approach requires a bit more time and consultation, compared to volume products.

You'll be reporting to the board and working closely with other channels including E-Commerce and Customer Service to identify what's working well, what isn't and putting forward suggestions for improving the buying experience and growing sales across all channels. You'll take responsibility for revenue growth of the inbound and in-store channels, training the teams, forecasting customer demand in a seasonal calendar and working with the Store Managers to continue the strong performances.

Ideally, your background will have been in a senior sales position with a retail product and roles that may be a good fit could be an existing Head of Sales in a retail environment, a Regional Sales Manager or an Area Manager responsible for an overall sales target. Knowledge of inbound telephone sales processes, team management and store performance management are the keys to this role. Experience in working with businesses that have an E-Commerce function and working closely with team members in this area would be really beneficial.

In return, you'll be rewarded with a very competitive package. Also, with investments being made across the business, there are real opportunities to grow the role in the short and medium term. This Head of Sales position has only become available due to a change of circumstances with the current person in post and roles like this do not come around too often!

If you have a background in managing sales performance with a retail product where brand perception is important and this Head of Sales position sounds like a challenge that interests you, please apply now!
