GENERAL SALES MANAGER
PURPOSE OF ROLE: To develop and lead a specification team, in developing sales of ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and mosaic tiles. This will be achieved through developing an established database of Architects and Designers nationwide along with targeting new projects. The role will concentrate on the London and South East of the UK. The role will involve managing projects through all stages until sales fulfilment and project completion.
COMPANY PROFILE: Focus Ceramics is an established company involved in the architectural specification industry for over 30 years. As a company we are looking to build on our core business to supply tile and stone finishes for all levels of contract specification work, through an extensive database of architects, designers, specifiers and contractors.
Following the acquisition by one of the UK and Irelands largest tile businesses, TileStyle, the Focus Ceramics strategy is to grow its business through sustained investment in people, the development of the Focus Ceramics brand in the UK and providing specifiers with an extensive range of quality materials from Europe’s leading manufacturers.
1) Develop and generate sales through specifications with architects, developers, contractors and interior designers.
2) To lead, motivate and develop a team of specification sales specialists.
3) Ensure that all projects are tracked and managed through all stages of the sales cycle, using SalesForce platform.
4) Work effectively to provide high level of customer service at all stages of process.
5) Working with your team to ensure all aspects of specification process run smoothly and the company ethos and values are promoted.
SCOPE OF ROLE: This is a key role within the company and achieving agreed level of sales and margin targets will be a priority. There will be a live portfolio of projects to take on and manage as well creating new projects using the established base on contacts. An exciting opportunity for the right candidate with real opportunities to develop within the company.
SKILLS: Time management, organisational and planning skills are essential, along with the ability to resolve problems, work under pressure and use personal initiative whilst maintaining balance with the wider team. Interpersonal communication and presentation skills are critical to building relationship with specifiers and contractors. Good literacy, writing and ability to use Microsoft programs competently, additionally experience of a database similar to SalesForce would be beneficial. A full and clean driving licence is required.
KNOWLEDGE: An understanding of the sales specification process, from specification, Bills of Quantities to invoiced sales. Product knowledge in porcelain and ceramic tiles as well as natural stone would be ideal, but not necessary as full training will be provided. Contacts within architectural, developer and interior practices will be essential.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years experience within a contract sales and specification environment and understanding of the sales and specification process with all of the key influencers and decision makers. Experience of leading or supervising a sales team would be ideal, however this role will be ideal for someone looking to take on a genuine leadership role.
ATTITUDE: Enthusiastic and positive personality will suit this role well, with high levels of self-motivation and the ability to work within a team. Confidence in presentation and communicating are essential.
REMUNERATION PACKAGE: Attractive base salary along with a strong performance based commission structure. Company laptop, IPad and smart phone provided. A company car will be provided. References and medical check-up will be required.
