Field Sales Engineer, Automotive OEM's, Home-based with National Travel, £35,000 Basic + Commission + Car Allowance + Pension + Extensive Benefits. Established for well over 100 years, this globally recognised manufacturer is arguably the most innovative and forward-thinking in their sector, boasting state of the art research and development facilities and a track record of continuous improvement in the technical and environmental performance of their products.

In this most difficult of years, they have not only outperformed the market but exceeded the targets they set themselves prior to 2020. As a result, they are self-funding significant reinvestment to ensure they build upon their sustained success.

To this end they are recruiting an ambitious Business Development led Sales Engineer, aspiring to take their career into a national and potentially international role in the future. This is not a commodity or price-driven sales role.

What's required:

* To succeed you will therefore be a consultative technical sales professional with experience selling into large automotive OEMs. You must be persistent and able to manage multiple projects and a large pipeline of potential.

* Candidates will require an engineering background and be capable of speaking on a technical level, as in many cases the role will be selling to engineering managers within Major OEM's and Tier 1 suppliers.

* This is a consultative, solutions-based role and requires advanced relationship building skills and the sophistication to communicate with stakeholders at multiple levels, in both technical and commercial terms.

* As a person you will be used to working autonomously and be self-driven and self-managing. Much of the role is the necessary research, preparation, and administration to secure specification (PQQs, ITT responses, bids and tender processes, commercial viability, supply chain, etc).

* Applications are sought from ambitious sales engineers with a minimum of 3 years client-facing experience within industrial or manufacturing environments.

* Business level fluency in German is desirable but not a prerequisite to applying.

In return for your high energy, commercial acumen, and work ethic, you will receive significant input from the organisation in terms of training and ongoing support, personal development, and visibility of your long-term career progression.
