Do you get excited by startups working on advanced technologies like Cloud, AI/ML and IOT? Are you passionate about Healthcare? Do you have the business savvy, deep technical insights, and the passion to help public sector adopt innovation? Do you have deep relationships within the health provider and payers systems, and within the health startup/VC ecosystem?

The Worldwide Public Sector Sales (WWPS) team is looking for a Business Development Manager to work with government/public sector decision makers, health startups, and the health innovation stakeholders such as the VCs and Accelerator & Incubators to accelerate the adoption of healthcare innovation by the public sector.

As a business development manager within AWS WWPS, you will have the exciting opportunity to help global public sector customers uncover, discover and refine use-cases that can be addressed through adoption of innovative cloud-based health solutions built by startups on AWS. You will also have the opportunity to shape and deliver on an EMEA strategy to focus on Healthcare within the public sector, and identify appropriate startups and stakeholders to help evangelize them about these opportunities. As a business development manager within AWS WWPS, you will be responsible for helping startups accelerate their public sector go-to-market by connecting the dots with public sector customers, AWS WWPS sales teams, partner teams and various sales-enablement teams to address the identified opportunities.

The ideal candidate will possess a business background in the health vertical that enables them to drive engagement with public sector decision makers, CxOs and founders of startups, and with influencers and stakeholders in the health innovation space. The candidate will also have the requisite technical background that enables them to easily interact with engineers and architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and grit is a must.

Roles & Responsibilities:
· Serve as a key member of the WWPS Venture Capital and Startups team to drive overall market and technical strategy to help public sector customers uncover, discover and develop health use-cases that can be solved through innovative cloud-based solutions built by startups.
· Find and qualify startups that can address these use-cases identified within the public sector.
· Help healthcare startups accelerate their public sector go-to-market by working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales team, marketing, business development team, partner team, marketplace and APN teams), and by connecting startups with customers and key partners.
· Implement and manage reporting systems using salesforce.com to track the effectiveness of the efforts to uncover and discover opportunities within the public sector, for innovative solutions built by startups.
· Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to the mission of driving adoption of startups-built innovation into public sector.
· Handle a high volume of engagements with startups and public sector customers.
· Experienced with account management (Enterprise, SMB and startup) and solution selling ability.
Some relevant technical and compliance knowledge is highly desirable, such as: databases, cloud computing, multi-tenant SaaS solutions, AI/ML and IOT and its applicability in various health applications, health compliance and regulatory requirements. Some Travel within greater Europe is required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· MBA required or equivalent.
· Significant Business development experience in cloud-based health solutions.
· Extensive experience working with Public Sector healthcare customers. Working knowledge of government acquisitions, contracts and technology certifications is a must.
· Health startup experience, either working for health startup firms, health VCs or CVCs, and/or health focused incubators/accelerators.
· Extensive relationships within the Public Sector healthcare institutions including healthcare providers systems, healthcare payer systems, academia, and related membership consortiums.
· Experience in marketing/selling emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IOT as applied to Healthcare applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities.
· Experience in technical solution delivery, business strategy, and corporate venturing activities
