Main purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Head of Product Operations, you will lead a team of Electricity Operations Advisors who manage processes relating to industry data flows, metering and settlements. The role will require working with teams from across the business, including Customer Services, Software Development, Management Information, Billing, Commercial and Compliance, to support Verastar in further evolving and strengthening Electricity Operations and managing and delivering significant change including industry-wide changes, such as Smart metering.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

* Managing the performance of Electricity Operations to meet business and industry targets and provide regular reporting (weekly and monthly) and insight to Operations management
* Leading a small team of advisors to fulfil the responsibilities of the Electricity Operations function, including:
* Monitoring and driving performance of meter read collection (traditional, advanced and smart)
* Managing settlement performance and make changes to achieve industry obligations
* Overseeing tasks relating to Elexon are completed e.g. P272, PARMS reporting and completing reports required for OFGEM and BEIS
* BAU relationship management with our managed service, DCDA, MOP, ELEXON and other industry parties
* Manage data flow exceptions, alongside managed service
* Resolving exceptions within CRM and industry that may cause billing issues or other adverse impacts to customer experience
* Collaborating with other departments within the business, to drive positive changes across the electricity customer journey
* Ensuring all business process are documented and reviewed regularly for improvement
* Analysing Electricity Operations performance, identifying and addressing the causes of failure and proactively identifying and driving improvement initiatives and developing reporting to ensure all key aspects of the operation are measured and monitored
* Managing team and team member performance including, conducting 1-2-1s, pay
* progression scheme meetings and quarterly bonus reviews, training and coaching

Skills and Experience Required - The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

* Proven experience of team management
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the, energy industry, preferably electricity
* A good understanding of data flows and the electricity market participants
* Experience in metering and MOP processes and knowledge of customer billing processes
* Knowledge of the settlement timelines and performance obligations
* Experience of managing third party agents
* Excellent communication skills
* Self-motivated and have ability to motivate and lead others to achieve improvements in performance
* Strong analytical skills to identify performance issues or exception trends
* Ability to make decisions independently
