Divisional Manager – Painting & Decorating Contractor

Mitchell Maguire Ltd has been retained on behalf of McLoughlin Group Holdings to manage the recruitment of a Divisional Manager. All introductions will be dealt with in the strictest confidence. Any introduction made directly to McLoughlin will be passed to Mitchell Maguire.

Job Title: Divisional Manager – Painting & Decorating

Industry Sector: Divisional Manager, General Manager, Senior Sales Manager, Local authorities, Principal Contractors, Main Contractors, Sub Contractors, Government Contractors, Social Housing, Refurbishment Projects, Painting & Decorating, Painting & Decorating Services, Protective Coating, Painting, Paint, Interior Decorating, Commercial, Interior Design, Facilities Management

Area to be covered: London & South East (predominantly London)

Remuneration: £60,000 - £80,000neg (depending on experience) + bonus & incentives

The role of the Divisional Manager – Painting & Decorating will involve:

·         Setting up a brand new decorating division under the McLoughlin Group Holdings company

·         Will be required to manage all aspects of the business from sales / business development to operations

·         Selling a painting & decorating service for both the refurbishment and new build markets

·         Winning projects in both the private and public sectors

·         Time will be spent generating new business relationships

·         Will be targeted to achieve minimum £1m turnover first year however it will be the quality of the projects and margin that will be more important

·         Will be required to work out of the new East London office

·         The opportunity will cover the whole of the South of England however will be focused on London & the South East

·         Due to the nature of the brand-new position, you will have free autonomy to discuss responsibility / strategic directions with the MD

The ideal applicant will be a Divisional Manager – Painting & Decorating with:

·         Must be aspiring to be or in divisional management, general management, commercial management, sales / operations management position or similar

·         Must have sold a painting & decorating service and be familiar with the trade

·         Must have experience in business development to blue chip companies, housing associations, local authorities, social housing sectors

·         Must have strong communications and be able to convert with different levels within the blue chip companies, local authorities and housing associations

·         Must be a driven person that’s looking to go above and beyond

·         Must have strong commercial acumen

·         Ideally have some knowledge of operations

·         Strong presentation skills

·         Excellent communicator with a resilient personality

·         Outgoing and empathetic
