Our client, a leading clean-tech company is looking for a dynamic, ambitious and focused Direct Sales Executive. The successful individual can be based anywhere in the UK and will be involved in the direct sales function. This includes helping to set up the function, originating sales opportunities, building the sales pipeline and negotiating and closing sales deals with a view to increase market penetration and growth. The person will be technically savvy and initially focus on opportunities in logistics, haulage in the Solar PV sector and possess the ability to take on other products and solutions that the group has in the pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and close sales opportunities for the group with initial focus on solar PV in accordance with the company’s overall strategic plans.
  • Systematically develop a strong sales pipeline across the UK.
  • Actively pursue direct sales leads with installers, distributors, investors and utility companies.
  • Assist with forecast of revenue on a regular basis and review sales results to ensure that established targets are being met.
  • Assist the operations team to define and improve the product portfolio by regularly gathering feedback from customers, business partners and by closely monitoring industry trends.
  • Provide input regarding marketing and product positioning strategies specific to target markets.
  • Successfully execute a brand and messaging strategy and act as an external evangelist for the brand.
  • Liaise with the executive team and peers to ensure that sales targets are being defined and met.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong experience in technical sales with sound knowledge of logistics, haulage and understanding of clean energy markets including solar.
  • Solid and verifiable track record of successfully originating, negotiating and closing deals.
  • Ability to open and develop a market for the product in multiple geographical regions.
  • Strong technical attitude with the ability to understand the technical workings of the product line and convey the advanced technical product benefits to potential customers in easy-to-grasp terms.
  • Ability to identify and convert new accounts while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in operating effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, complex, rapid growth environment.
  • A distinct customer service focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
