About this role

Desk Sales Professional, Mid-Market

As a direct report to the Desk Sales Manager of the Midlands & North CPS team this role is responsible for providing in-life customer support and straightforward cross-sell and upsell opportunities.

This role is responsible for managing customer relationships from a desk-based environment, managing a range of customers usually around 65, with a revenue target of several million pounds.

Customer satisfaction is also a significant factor for your nominated clients, whether working with them singly from the desk, or as part of an overall account team.

Job Dimensions

* Managing c.50+ customer accounts with an average revenue per account of £20k
* Acquisition pipeline opportunity - 5% of base to acquisition as qualified opportunity

BT Enterprise has around 1.2 million customers and serve over half the FTSE 350. Our customers range from big household names, government departments and public service organisations right through to small businesses and new start-ups. We cover both the communications and IT services markets. Overall, we’re focused on four main product markets: Fixed Voice; Mobility; Fibre and connectivity; networked IT services provided over the biggest UK network in both fixed and mobile communications. We also provide network IT services to corporate and public sector organisations in the Republic of Ireland.

You'll have the following responsibilities

* Responsible for delivering against revenue targets either on his/her own, or as part of virtual sales team within a customer base of either private or public sector customers.
* Responsibility for outbound sales prospecting and opportunities, regular and consistent calling of customers and promotion of BT products and services.
* Work closely with field sales and specialist teams to deliver opportunities for core BT product lines
* Accurately forecast business KPI’s to management teams
* Proactively manage churn risk for core BT products
* Identify opportunities to sell to new customers
* Recognises and delivers against opportunities for business growth via a multi-channel approach.
* Is responsible for closing own contracts, as well as engaging with others/specialists to deliver customer requirements as necessary e.g. Field Account Management team, Contract Management team for managed accounts.
* Acts as the desk-based point of contact for the customer/partner developing long term customer relationships.

You'll have the following skills & experience

* Entry field sales role that drives business growth for BT by closing contracts, either as part of an overall account team via recognised hand offs, or closing own contracts where acting as the single point of contact.
* Recognises and delivers against opportunities for business growth via and multi-channel approach
* Responsible for delivering against own revenue targets as well as engaging with others/specialists to deliver customer requirements as necessary.

Experience you would be expected to have

* Managing a range of clients of size typically 100-350 seats, up to £1m addressable spend.
* Familiarity with BT’s Desk-Based Account management approach
