About this role

You will be accountable for managing a team of Desk Based Account Managers who are responsible across CPS Customers in South & Wales, for the achievement of revenue growth, winning and acquiring new business in line with new business targets and exceeding Customer Satisfaction measures. You’ll motivate and manage a team of Desk Based Account Managers, ensuring “Best Practice” management of people.

BT Enterprise around 1.2 million customers and serve over half the FTSE 350. Our customers range from big household names, government departments and public service organisations right through to small businesses and new start-ups. We cover both the communications and IT services markets. Overall we’re focused on four main product markets: Fixed Voice; Mobility; Fibre and connectivity; networked IT services provided over the biggest UK network in both fixed and mobile communications. We also provide network IT services to corporate and public sector organisations in the Republic of Ireland.

Our Wholesale business helps communications providers (CPs) and other organisations provide fixed or mobile phone services. Our ventures provide mass-market services like directory enquiries and payphones, and enterprise services including BT Redcare. We also offer specialist enterprise services to our Internet of Things customers.

Corporate & Public Sector Sales function is focused on driving value for customers of more than 100 employees. Customers at this level require a higher degree of intimacy with more complex solutions or integrations. We’ll be organised regionally to bring our field sales teams near to Enterprise’s customers – both current and potential. There is a dedicated team, with a national focus, for major public sector accounts – enabling us to manage our key Government and Defence relationships consistently and securely.

You'll have the following responsibilities

* Landing the transformation to become a ‘technology’ led sales organisation from the desk
* Redefining the role of desk based sales taking best practice from industry
* Collaboration with strategic partners, such as Cisco to demonstrate our new technology capability
* Direct management of Desk Based Account managers and setting direction, objectives, financial sales targets, contact strategies, relationship mapping
* Setting high standards in the team and coaching developing colleagues, providing leadership within the team
* Driving the team to generate, acquire and win new business/acquisition and lock out the competition, whilst also defending existing revenues
* Being creative and innovative in driving sales performance, recommending new ideas and approaches to target attainment
* Leading acquisition sales calling and opportunity creation across the team
* Coaching and monitoring team and individual performance, setting team and individual targets, monitoring attendance and dealing with people

* Partners: e.g. Ring central, Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft, etc.to build relationships at peer level

Excellent people management skills which motivates team to exceed sales targets and customer sat measures.

Regional customer insight to enable BT to grow its share of both the public and private telco sector.

The ability to be able to adapt the teams approach dependent on sector they are selling into.

Experience you would be expected to have:

Mandatory

* Identifying emerging markets and market shifts whilst being aware of new products and competition status
* Attending customer meetings and sector events as required
* Taking responsibility for Product, Technical and Industry knowledge, to effectively support team and customers

Preferred

* Leading and communicating Operational Plans as they apply.
