Admiral Law was created in 2013 to provide legal assistance for our customers and ensure they are given a great service throughout the life of their claim. Our purpose built, modern office, is in the heart of Newport City Centre, directly opposite the Railway Station.

About the role:

The Admiral Law Defence team exists to support the Admiral Insurance Claims department in its handling of litigated third-party liability claims. A varied book of work sees the team handling the defence of accidental damage cases following RTAs, highways claims and a number of counter-claim cases involving bodily injury. Most cases are valued at less than £25K in value.

The department is committed to delivering a high standard of support to our insurer client and their customer, working hard to ensure we obtain the best possible outcome in what are sometimes complex situations.

The role involves managing a team of lawyers and paralegal case-handlers, ranging in experience. What they have in common is a great attitude, technical ability and a shared passion to do the best for our clients.

We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic, self-motivated and talented individual to join our expanding management team.

Responsibilities include:

* Motivating a team of case handlers daily

* Managing staff performance and giving them the coaching and development required to achieve their career aspirations

* Ensuring the team work in line with our company SLAs and KPIs

* Giving technical guidance on files

* Undertaking appropriate training

* Ensuring we act within our regulatory framework and always with our clients’ best interests at heart

* Regularly auditing cases and providing appropriate feedback

* Keeping up to date with industry changes and working closely with our management group in order to continually develop the department and wider business

* Identifying trends and having an analytical mind to gain insight into our market position

About you:

We are looking for a people person with great judgement, sound technical knowledge and a desire to motivate and support others. It goes without saying that you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, not to mention a commitment to delivering outstanding client care and developing your team.

You will be someone who leads by example and has a strong track record of delivering within prescribed timeframes. Previous management experience is not essential. Strong knowledge of fast track claims is important, including an understanding of the litigation process are required for this role, and essential for the position. However, the ability to exercise good judgement around claims is essential, as is a decisive nature and a willingness to learn.
