Are you ready to build the next generation of technical leaders? The Amazon Web Services Global Verticals and Strategic Accounts team is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to help meet the growing demand from our largest multi-national customers. The right candidate for this role exudes a passion for learning and can effectively communicate highly technical concepts to audiences at different stages in their AWS partnership. The role partners directly with our customers and focuses on creating detailed, complex global talent transformation plans that incorporate training in a variety of modalities with a goal of building cloud skillsets, driving certifications, and scaling capabilities inside our Global Accounts.

The Customer Enablement BDM will work closely with a broad base of account teams who support our expanding customer base. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who has a strong technical training background, can think big, has a bias for action, and most importantly, has the ability to deliver results. In this role, the BDM will work closely with our enterprise customers to craft enablement programs that will drive adoption and usage of AWS services. The candidate will assist in defining internal customer requirements to develop detailed enablement proposals and manage the flawless execution of enablement plans. This will include identifying, qualifying and recommending education solutions, and working with the program management and operations teams to ensure successful delivery. This role will measure established internal and customer KPIs following enablement delivery.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and proven business development experience, ideally in IT training & enablement. To be successful in this position, we are looking for a customer obsessed self-starter who is prepared to think big and dive deep. Successful candidates will have relevant experience in managing multiple customer engagements in parallel while working to develop and improve on current enablement programs and processes. The role will require close collaboration with our AWS Training and Certification team and Professional Services team, whose focus is on the end-to-end training and technical workshop content and delivery for the customer. This includes enterprise-wide change management programs, driving organizational awareness, creating cohesive training across cross-functional teams & divisions, implementing continuous learning plans, and new hire onboarding programs.

The primary responsibilities for the Customer Enablement BDM:
· Identify, incubate, and mature customer focus on training and enablement of AWS cloud computing concepts inside their organizations
· Create large scale, transformative training and enablement plans focused on helping the customer create a “cloud-fluent” organization
· Work with a diverse set of executive and business stakeholders across customer's enterprise to set a clear vision for AWS enablement and ensure flawless execution of training plans
· Establish parameters in partnership with our customers to measure the early adoption, proficiency and ROI of technical skills transferred
· Work with customers to achieve full organizational adoption to change by implementing change management best practices.
· Conduct needs assessments, determine training requirements and build detailed enablement plans to accelerate customer adoption and capacity of the AWS platform
· Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries while coordinating internal and external resources as needed
· Up to 50% travel required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A BA or BS in computer science, engineering, business, marketing, or related field (MBA preferred)
· At least 5 years of technology related sales or business development experience with significant enterprise experience in large global accounts and/or training industry is preferred
· Ability to effectively manage cost, revenue, and margin
· Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a complex, ambiguous, and fast-paced environment
· Ability to work effectively with cross-organizational teams in an international, diverse, and complex organization
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group leadership and executive presentations
· Ability to be mobile and travel to client locations as needed
· Ability to navigate across AWS and the customer with a trusted advisory/consultative approach
· Demonstrated ability to influence others and execute in a customer-centric manner

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Marketing, operations, and training delivery experience
· A strong understanding of AWS or cloud computing concepts and/or technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
· Ability to think critically and creatively to develop new business-impacting ideas or processes
· Multilingual, with a preference for German and French
