Conferencing & Events Sales Manager
Location: Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton (NN5 5BG)
Compensation: £25,000 - £26,000 per annum


• To proactively drive conferencing and events sales to achieve annual targets for the venue. To oversee effective administration of all conferencing and events sales, promoting outstanding customer service within the department.


• Oversee the day to day operations of the conferencing and events team, providing guidance and direction where necessary
• At all times to be an ambassador for the venue, building strong relationships with customers and clients alike
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Process enquiries and proposals within business guidelines which provide best value options, whilst still maximising sales opportunities
• Ensure effective coordination of processing of enquiries by the team
• Follow-up all enquiries and proposals within agreed timescales
• Arrange and conduct customer site visits in order to close sales
• Maintain accurate records of enquiries on booking system
• Work collaboratively and develop a strong working relationship with the on-site Operations Team
• Develop excellent venue and product knowledge, ensuring that the team are kept up to date
• Be aware of competitor activities and industry trends
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients
• Grow and network existing accounts
• Meet sales targets and KPI’s and review regularly with line manager, reporting on any shortcomings with clear business reasons and remedial action plans
• Work closely with the Hospitality team to pass on any business leads
• Contribute ideas for the Sales and Marketing plan
• Maintain required sales pace
• Set team goals and activities on a weekly basis to drive conversion and pipeline
• Provide sales support across other department functions
• Attend all Club matchdays and departmental events
• Undertake training and development as required in reviews and appraisals
• Participate in Commercial and all staff meetings and weekly forecast and sales meetings
• Undertake such other duties as required which are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the Club


• At least 2 years experience within a hotel or similar venue
• Knowledge of diary management systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate
• Passionate about customer service
• Desire to exceed sales and revenue targets
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Good administrative and organisational skills
• Inspire others to deliver and promote best practice across the department
• Flexible, forward thinker
• Confident and resilient
• Ability to communicate at all levels effectively
• Commercially aware
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work unsocial hours
