Commercial Pricing Manager – Devices

Hammersmith, London or Reading

The devices team is an integral part of the product function, accountable for the end-to-end management of devices in the range from portfolio selection, sourcing, purchasing, central planning, device testing and GTM launch to in-life management support across propositions, channels, technical and support teams.

The role

Accountable for the successful management of the device category within Mobile Product team ensuring category meets budgeted margins and connections targets maintaining competitiveness in market and customer relevance. Owns relationship with VM Mobile trading teams to deliver device product propositions that deliver trading KPIs.

To have end-to-end responsibility for commercial operations planning within Commercial Device team. Ensures area meets budget requirements on key metrics including device margin and manufacturer terms. Manages all device margin planning and device pricing agreement with Trading teams to achieve connections and margin targets. Owns manufacturer terms delivery and reconciliations. Works closely with Commercial Managers in Device and Trading teams alongside Commercial Finance.

Key accountabilities

*

Deliver Quarterly pricing strategy and Monthly handset pricing and promotion plan. Interface with proposition/trading teams to ensure plans meet connections, Margins, Revenue and OCF targets

*

Support the delivery of the promotion plan with GTM and align plans across Acquisition, Base, Mobile Delivery, Finance, Marketing and Sales

*

Deliver pricing strategy for FMC to drive overlap and cross sell into cable homes. Monitor performance to ensure volumes are being delivered in line with business case and react accordingly

*

Ensure all handset margin/costs and overall connections are being maximised to achieve best device ROI/Profitability

*

Provide elasticity analysis and post implementation reviews to build a framework for assessing pricing decisions

*

Create Monthly forecast of handset mix aligned to overall Category and Vendor plan aligned to Acquisition and Base budgets. Feed this into the trading plan to forecast and influence business KPI’s

*

Understand trends on device pricing and provide competitor analysis to ensure all pricing/propositions remain competitive within market. Identify strategies and tactics to secure competitive pricing/positioning.

*

Influence marketing strategies to deliver Devices KPIs. Sign-off/auditing monthly Marketing collateralSteer buying function to ensure negotiations are targeted towards the right devices to support plans and deliver ISF and rebates targets.

*

Work closely with finance and trading teams to track the monthly device margin/profitability mix to ensure we are tracking to the agreed target. Ensure any variances to targets are highlighted early with recommendations to avoid financial misses or overstocks

*

Devise alternative price points/options to achieve requirements if budget is not being met.

*

Manage Commercial team input into LRP, budget and forecast processes for VM UK and LGI teams

*

Own and runs process for claiming, reconciliation and audit of all manufacturer terms including price rebates, marketing fund, stock protection and ad hoc funds. Ensures phasing of incoming supplier terms is aligned Mobile P+L requirements
