Commercial Manager Job - Portsmouth - Full-time Permanent Job - Insurance Industry

Your new role

As Commercial Manager you will play a vital part in the management of key strategic clients and partnerships delivering exceptional levels of service in line with the business strategy and company values. Managing a team of two, the client function work to retain and grow the strategic relationships. This role will report into the Commercial Director and bring the business to the next great success together. You will oversee all aspects of account management, including building and maintaining client relationships, planning, advice, team management and organic client growth.

Relationship Management

Overall responsibility for relationship management to retain clients and enhance client profitability
Providing hands on leadership and support of both new and existing clients and ensure client needs are managed efficiently and effectively
Identify opportunities to expand client relationships
Assisting in the negotiation and agreement of client contracts
Represent the client within the business, ensuring alignment with other departments to ensure new projects/changes are delivered to their requirements and coordinating the resolution of issues
Maintain and implement all necessary client governance, including account plans to ensure all relationships and sales are compliant

Reporting and Analysis

Analyse marketing data and trends, providing recommendation to enhance client relationships and profitability
Track and manage client and new business revenue forecasts
Use data across multiple channels to create summary and detailed reports and presentations for internal and external distribution
Identify and deliver business and performance improvement opportunities

Business Development

Using existing products, identify, approach and present to new and existing clients and partnerships
Identify new markets for existing and new solutions and products. Identify new business partners, approach and close
Work with the in-house support teams to ensure the smooth and timely launch of new products and programmes
Responsibility for the delivery of revenue targets for existing client relationships and growth
Present SPB Group and SPB UK& Ireland group capabilities to new clients in order to win new insurance schemes and affinity programmes

Line Management

Support and lead the client team to achieve annual revenue targets
Develop and support team members in the achievement of their objectives through coaching and mentoring

What you'll need to succeed

Significant experience in key account management with a proven track record within the Insurance or Financial Services industry
Good knowledge and practical experience of working within internal project teams
Strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking and with excellent analysis and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving skills, hands on and can lead in front
Strong team management and leadership experience are essential
Great team player, approachable but also can drive the business and the team to win the business
Entrepreneur spirit with the Can Do/Make it Happens Attitude
Highly committed to the team and business
Be based in our Portsmouth office 5 days a week and have the ability to travel to client sites
