Business Development Manager, SaaS into Engineering, up to £60K Basic, £88K OTE uncapped, UK wide. Combination of home-based and from Bristol HQ. Established over a decade ago this software house is at the cutting edge of enterprise-wide collaborative tools sold into major engineering firms. This is a highly complex project-based business development role where sales are regularly more than £100K incorporating implementation, consultancy, training and maintenance. They have recently won their largest ever project in the UK and are fast becoming a significant name by continuous business and product improvement. While seen as the third 'product' in the market the software has capabilities that far exceed the competition. Also, it is more customisable and, as it is sold as SaaS, it is a more attractive proposition than that of the major international competitors. Their huge and highly established competition are slow to adapt to changing methodologies, and as a consequence, they are winning project after project when in direct competition with them.
Quite simply they are continuously capitalising on their competition's inability to react to technological changes and the demand for SaaS rather than significant capital investment. With a new CEO, they are experiencing 20% annual growth and need a further BDM to exploit this fantastic growth curve.
The role is selling the software to a wide range of industries, but recent wins include Power Generation, major engineering contractors, transport, defence, airports and general manufacturing. Selling into end users sometimes via system integrators the role requires a technically competent and experienced engineering software sales professional that is used to technical software and scoping complex projects 'in hand' with customers.
As a Business Developer, you will be a professional 'hunter' that can open doors at senior levels and work autonomously to deliver sales targets. To apply, you will have a highly commercial approach to technical engineering software sales and able to deploy your time and resources to optimum effect. You will be experienced in managing pipeline, consistent forecasting and working to time-proved sales methodologies. Knowledge of 'social selling' techniques would be very useful.
As a sales professional, you will have a consultative and mathematical approach to sales - understanding the importance of pipeline and associated matrices. You will be creative, dynamic, customer focused, healthily aggressive yet always professional.
You will be open to learning new sales methods and be a team player that encourages working in partnership with colleagues. The role is UK wide, and living location will ideally be within a 60-mile radius of Bristol/Bath.
The potential to earn in year one is realistic as detailed and is uncapped.
