Business Development Manager - ROW

Do you have a track record of success in a business development role?

They have an opportunity in their Abingdon office for a Business Development Manager to join their well-established team. You’ll be a natural hunter, responsible for proactively acquiring new business to increase their market share and revenue opportunities at every possible touchpoint.

You’ll have an excellent knowledge of your target market/location and execute a tailored approach to win business for both short- and long-term gain. This role is focussed on the Rest of World outside of the US/Canada/UK and Australasia markets.

What you’ll be doing …

- Your focus will be to strive to exceed annual sales targets for new and lapsed customers and to manage and develop a pipeline of new customers to the point of contract and revenue commitment.
- You’ll use your great communication skills to uncover all the information necessary to understand the prospective customer, coming up with a creative and targeted approach to win business.
- A large part of the role will require you to build a network through the organisation to find the decision maker to endeavour to secure a company level commitment/top supplier contract.
- You’ll be comfortable calculating and presenting preferential price agreements to secure new business and commitment-based contracts, effectively handling any correspondence and rate negotiation.
- Effectively manage regular outreach to newly converted customers to further build relationships, understand their visual needs and maximise ongoing revenue potential.
- Self-motivated to hit KPIs such as call/email targets, customer meeting and pitches, price proposals and account set ups.
- Build up targeted list of prospective customers using industry news, LinkedIn, new registrations and leads.
- Provide data-led, and objective projections to support with accurate forecasting.

- Able to negotiate and influence at all levels to build credible external networks?
- Resilient and tenacious, able to work at pace and adapt to change?
- Self-aware with the ability to actively listen and ask relevant questions.
- A skilled presenter, able to adapt approach to suit a wide-ranging customer base.
- Able to work well under pressure, able to make good judgements, decisions and meet conflicting deadlines.

Do you have …?

- Previous success in a business development role with a natural product mindset?
- A commercial mindset, able to articulate and present solutions that demonstrate a clear return on investment
- Business level language skills and cultural understanding of allocated territory, able to converse confidently via telephone, face to face and via email.
- Strong negotiation skills, responsive and creative with a keen visual sense when recommending imagery.

It would also be useful to have knowledge of the basic fundamental legal considerations, including Copyright, when working with photography as would familiarity with customer management systems, specifically SalesForce
