Job Title: Business Development Manager – Piling & Infrastructure

Geotechnical Engineering, Piling, Restricted Access Micropiling, Ground Investigation, Modular Foundations, Ground Beams, Soil Nails, Rock Bolts, Screw Piles, Pile Testing, On-Track Rail Services, and Drilling & Grouting

Area to be covered: National – based Midlands/ North

Remuneration: £45,000-£60,000 + 15% Bonus

Benefits: £500 Car allowance + full benefits package

The role of the Business Development Manager – Piling & Infrastructure will involve:

  • Field sales role selling our client’s mini piling and ground anchors/ engineering services
  • Selling into infrastructure, predominantly rail and highways, small amount of commercial & residential
  • Majority of time spent winning new CP6 projects from existing accounts
  • Managing relationships within East & West Rail, Network Rail, Laing O’Rourke etc.
  • Responsible for up to £30m revenue
  • Working as one of two field sales professionals within the infrastructure market nationally
  • Visiting construction sites once per week
  • Working out of East Midlands/ Yorkshire office up to 3 days per week
  • Working on a high volume of projects, typically around £150,000, but can be £5m+
  • Although not responsible for pricing, this will be done by the estimation team, it is expected that you will know how to put bids together
  • 2/3 customer visits per week (quality over quantity)

The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager – Piling & Infrastructure with:

·        Must have sold piling/ ground engineering

·        Must have sold into infrastructure market, ideally rail or highways

·        Proven track record in field sales or open to estimating background lookinto move into field sales

·        Pre-construction background preferred

·        Capable of putting together technical/ complex bids

·        Ideally sold technical services to the construction industry – preferably “in the ground” solutions

·        Open to product manufacturers background if they have also sold services of an installation team

·        Technical competent

·        Ideally some civil engineering qualifications

·        Self-starter, hit the ground running mentality individual
