Business Development Manager – Modular Accommodation

Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Modular Accommodation

Industry Sector: Modular Buildings, MMC System, Off-Site Construction, Residential, Construction, Education, Healthcare

Area to be covered: London & South East

Remuneration: £65,000 Neg. + £50,000 commission

Benefits: Car Allowance + comprehensive benefits package

The role of the Business Development Manager Modular Accommodation will involve:

·        Field sales position selling large modular complexes, typically 50-75 bays (can be up to 200 for hospital projects etc.), minimum order value of £2m

·        Selling into and winning framework agreements with main contractors, design & building contractors, government frameworks (e.g. department for educations) etc.

·        75% new business development position, 25% managing existing customers

·        Responsible for growing an area achieving £15m-£20m turnover

·        Average order value is between £2m-£5m, but can go up to £10m+

·        Typically 3-6 months from enquiry to delivery

·        Large modular complexes can be made up of any number of bays as each large modular complex is completely bespoke in respect of square meters

·        You will be required to advise on layout of modular buildings based upon the required footprint (e.g. double story / partial double story etc) and convey customer requirements to design, and commercial management via bid launch process

·        Fantastic internal support from dedicated Bid Manager and Marketing Manager, as well assistance from telesales regarding lead generation

·        Targeting projects predominantly within residential, education and healthcare end users (small amount of commercial)

·        Small proportion of time will be spent on construction sites, although the pre-construction team will be mainly responsible for this

 

The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager Modular Accommodation with:

·        Modular accommodation industry field sales experience

·        Proven field sales achievement of £5million+ per annum within the construction industry

·        Must have previously won either main contractors frameworks, building contractors frameworks or government framework agreements e.g. DFE Department for Education

·        Commercially aware

·        Ability to quote/ price jobs and understand site surveys

·        Ability to close deals

·        Hunger/ appetite for new business

·        Ideally good knowledge of the construction, residential, educational and healthcare sectors
