JOB SPECIFICATION: Business Development Manager / Key Account Manager : Foodservice

We have identified hundreds of foodservice businesses (300 to be precise, a mixture of SME's & large nationals) and require a Business Development Manager to partner new account acquisition.

Our approach to new business is via a process called 'Account Based Marketing', think of a targeted precision approach rather than scatter gun - where each targeted account receives its own tailored marketing message, even different decision makers receive different tailored messages.

Your role is to understand the drivers for decision makers, business profiles, buying habits and key influencing factors, then working closely with the marketing team to assist in creating engaging content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Development Manager / Key Account Manager : Foodservice

· Approaching and engaging with the identified key targets.
· Showcasing our range (over 100) of fresh, ambient and frozen food products to key stakeholders / influencers.
· Decision makers can range from Chefs, Development Teams to Food and Beverage professionals, through to Owners and Procurement.
· Engage with the product development teams to deliver a compelling customer specific proposition.
· Negotiating and implanting KPI’s / SLA’s for key accounts.

REQUIREMENTS: Business Development Manager / Key Account Manager : Foodservice

As detailed above, we are foodies, we need you to be a foodie too! Ideally you will have experience of working with a food or drink manufacturer, possibly even been a Chef or worked in a kitchen in your early career, either way you will understand how a kitchen works and how a menu is put together.

· Tenacity and drive in approaching and engaging with new clients. Whilst we have identified who we want to target you need to make the calls.
· You will be used to managing relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. We are a small but inclusive UK team. We take a 50 / 50 approach to sales where working with marketing is critical to our success.
· Have a persuasive, influencing manner getting others to ‘buy in’ to you.
· Have a clear understanding of marketing principals – particularly an interest in digital marketing.
