My client, an incredibly well known, merchant for builders and companies in the construction industry, is looking for a Business Development Manager to sell a range of passive fire protection products. From insulation to cladding and everything fire rated in between.

Client Details

Large plc, with excellent development and progression opportunities, looking for driven consultative sales individuals to join their ever growing team.

Description

The responsibilities of the Business Development Manager are:

  • Will build relationships with specialist contractors, developers, major house builders and sub-contractors and raise awareness of Fire Stopping/Protection products.
  • Provide training and awareness education for all branches within territory and liaise with National Accounts, Branch Management and Regional Directors.
  • You will work to build project pipeline and continuously manage opportunities and update with latest info and status.
  • You will also offer technical assistance to all customers in all sectors and locations in territory, with a high focus on site work (70% of time) to capture opportunities and feed back into suitable subcontractors or chase subcontractor that have already won projects.
  • Liaise with preferred suppliers to discuss pricing, deals, projects, clients and providing presentations (CPD style) to clients both direct and indirect.

Profile

The ideal Business Development Manager would:

  • Have some fire related knowledge would be useful
  • Have a background in the sale of insulation, cladding, plasterboard, roofing materials or similar related products
  • Experience of Field Sales within Construction Industry with demonstrable record for hitting targets in both margin and headline sales.
  • You will be a good communicator at all levels from Site Installation Teams through to Managing Director of Blue Chip Businesses and have reasonable computer skills (XL, CRM, PowerPoint).
  • You will be self-motivated and well organised, ambitious, tenacious and conscientious and be capable of working in a team or alone.
  • You will need to be technically able with ability to understand products, applications and able to learn new systems and MUST show a desire to over achieve with the capability of strategic planning of activities in territory.
